Use 1-2 times a week. After cleansing, apply the KP Bump Eraser to wet skin, and gently massage the scrub with your fingertips across the body, then rinse and pat dry, and follow with your favourite body lotion or moisturiser.

Chicago-based board-certified dermatologist Caroline Robinson, MD, is also a fan of the Exfoliating Body Wash, in particular. Its "8.8 free acid value of glycolic acid is mild enough for sensitive skin but effective enough for dry, rough, bumpy, or flaky skin on the body," she says of the body polish, which can be used to treat dry or scaly feet and legs — as well as the rest of the body. In addition to recommending this wash for KP, Dr. Robinson says the brightening formula also helps reduce hyperpigmentation, too. A few weeks ago I introduced you all to the First Aid Beauty KP bump eraser as a new product I was trying out. I’ve been having a great time with the product so far.

I received this as a sample and ended up buying it. It left my skin feeling refreshed and smooth and reduces the strawberry spot pigmentation I have on my arms. The body scrub features 10% alpha hydroxy acid, a chemical exfoliant that works to remove dead skin cells and visible bumps. Upon learning what KP was, my next question was “how can I get rid of it?’ And that’s why you’re reading this post now. Strawberry legs are not the most attractive thing to look and moreover, they certainly don’t feel great either. Research states that KP tends to improve with age but I don’t want to wait and neither do you. How do I treat KP? If that sounds drying, no sweat: Sunflower seed oil helps replenish moisture and support the skin barrier.)

Why It's Worth It: Like many of the products on this list, U Beauty's Resurfacing Body Compound contains a trifecta of chemical exfoliants. In this particular formula, you'll spot mandelic, glycolic, and lactic acids all working their texture-transforming wonders. Not sure if it helps with KP but it really reduced the ingrown hairs after shaving/waxing. It can be a bit harsh (feels like rubbing sand on skin). And maybe use on alternate day or 2-3 times a week. Skin feels smooth and not dry after it is rinsed out. The product is not scented so it's kind on the skin, but be careful if you have cuts on your hand as it can sting. While the pumice beads do that, the glycolic and lactic acid chemically exfoliate the skin by deeply penetrating the skin to fade dark marks, improve dullness and the skin’s natural moisture factor. 2. Softer skin eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJFUzI1NiJ9.eyJjaWQiOjEsImNvcnMiOlsiaHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZmlyc3RhaWRiZWF1dHkuY29tIl0sImVhdCI6MTY5ODkyNDgwNiwiaWF0IjoxNjk4NzUyMDA2LCJpc3MiOiJCQyIsInNpZCI6MTAwMDk3MTg4Niwic3ViIjoiYmNhcHAubGlua2VyZCIsInN1Yl90eXBlIjowLCJ0b2tlbl90eXBlIjoxfQ.IngKrqtLy8U6irGIjKsqiuuIX9gaW30jyA6MYo1cjdc-Hfe4mTU5KOaB7vejWXR9ojHRNCZZJoJHwDSkYF-Dxg

Why It's Worth It: Dermadoctor's KP Duty line was one of the first skin-care collections to specifically call out keratosis pilaris as its target, and it's still a staple. Dr. Turegano refers to the surprisingly lightweight lotion, in particular, as a derm staple. Key ingredients include a patented blend of AHAs, BHA, and PHAs, urea, and green tea — and that's just the top of the list. To replenish and protect your dry, bumpy skin, ingredients like eight ceramides and squalane come to the rescue to provide hours of moisture. I received this as a sample and found the exfoliation quite gentle on my skin. My arms were noticeably smoother and softer. I wasn't a huge fan of the smell but it was really subtle so I'd overlook this for the results of the product. Not only does it improve skin texture but another impressive fact is how long the effects of an exfoliation session lasts. My skin remains smooth for almost the whole 7 days until it’s time to exfoliate again. 4. Soft, supple skin As with anything, the right treatment for your keratosis pilaris may invlolve your trying out different products. Taylor Worden, celebrity esthetician and founder of Taylor Worden Skin, says: “Everybody is different, but I would give it 8-12 weeks to fully see the results with products.”Editor Tip: New York City-based dermatologist Hadley King, MD, also gives First Aid Beauty's KP Smoothing Body Lotion a hearty stamp of approval. "It contains lactic acid and urea to gently exfoliate and smooth the skin, as well as colloidal oatmeal and ceramides to support the skin barrier," she explains. I shave myself and get pesky little bumps all over and this really does help with getting rid of those bumps.
