When set correctly, you should be able to sense how the car is moving through the feeling in your hands, whether the car is understeering (feels light) or oversteering (sudden force) or even when the car is on its limit of grip.

In any case, this guide will cover the initial set up process for the Logitech G29/G920 driving wheel. For all of these settings it is best to leave them on default and adjust so within ACC itself as this will provide a more consistent experience overall. The first step, before even plugging the wheel into the PC is to make sure that you have both the power and pedal connectors plugged into the wheelbase. One thing to note is on the bottom of the pedals there is a rotable grip pad that can be used on carpet to avoid the pedals slipping during use. You can also record your own macro keystrokes for quick functions but this is not essential for playing ACC.

When plugging in the usb do not have your hands on the wheel as this will begin the calibration process and rotate through the full motion of the wheel.

As well as being compatible with PC, it is also compatible with the Xbox Series X and Playstation 5, meaning that you can enjoy this wheel on whichever platform you so wish. Or maybe you’ve been a long time Logitech user and are looking to find the best settings for the Logitech G29 to make you faster. It is widely thought that direct drive steering wheels such as the Fanatec range provide a better feel than belt driven and gear driven wheels, like the Logitech and Thrustmaster’s.When you first install your wheel, often the manufacturer will provide a guide on how to set up and calibrate your wheel. A second advantage that you will find with the correct steering lock is that you will avoid ‘scrubbing’ the tyres – this means that if you turn beyond the steering lock of the car, then you cause the tyre to generate additional heat and attempt to add more steering angle than what is actually possible. However, as mentioned previously, the difference between G29 and G920 is based on which of these consoles the wheel is compatible with. Dynamic damping for the higher-end wheels is usually left at 100, however, for entry-level wheels, this should be turned down to help keep weight in the steering wheel at high speeds.
