For example, who would have thought Doctor Who’s Jon Pertwee (Third Doctor) and Peter Davison (Fifth Doctor) teamed up with Geoffrey from Rainbow?

It’s an entertaining game that may be from a simpler time, but the laughs are still as contagious now as it was then. I guess that’s the bonus of the three discs that contain this version; The game is so lively you don’t really care.

My mum and me were avid viewers of the original run, so I was thrilled to hear the first five years’ worth of episodes were being made available in a 13-disc DVD set. Teams were captained by Christopher Blake and Julie Peasgood and the show introduced a lateral thinking puzzle (which the host could "give clues to"). In the case of his wife, who turned to him frequently during her spots, he was very specific about a mime to give for a certain "sounds like" word.

The distribution company "Network on Air" released nearly all of the Michael Aspel episodes on a 13 DVD disc set in November 2022.I rarely watch any kind of TV during the daytime, so it's a heady indulgence, and one I look forward to on those days I'm around the house. I fell into the wormhole by watching one of Honor Blackman’s episodes off the back of my current rewatch of The Upper Hand. Then comes his turn and he throws himself into it with such enthusiastic physicality each and every time. Una Stubbs and Lionel Blair captain two teams of celebrities in this light-hearted battle of the sexes!

Fortunately, the next pair of episodes I watched featured a more reassuring lineup: Richard O'Sullivan, Tom O'Connor and Ray Alan vs. And probably the first transmitted during the daytime: the team captains now say "and on my team today" instead of "tonight". There's been a big jump in available episodes (or at least in episodes I can find) and I've leapt into Series Six.Many episodes are available online and I've fallen into the habit of watching an episode while nibbling my lunch. A 1979 episode I watched yesterday featured Liza herself, seated directly next to Una and eyeing up her chair. Richard O'Brien look-a-like Tim Clark (also of sports show Under the Moon fame) had to change his name of Tim Burton because so many people confused him with the American film director of the same name.
