Description

As you are by now well aware there were draconian restrictions on what could be said as news, thus Allied progress was made to seem irresistible after El Alamein. Below is an interactive Google map showing the location of the trig pillars I have bagged and a link to the walk on which it was bagged. Pass through a gate stile and turn right and follow another good path north to the trig point at summit. Walked over from Galgate via the canal tow path, then Thurnham Churches along to Haresnape's Farm to use the footpath to bag the trig near the pond.

I presume when that is the case and sponsors change there has to be as lot of messing about changing the name again? The thought process behind the creation of this resource, is described in this blog post: Foul Weather Alternative. if you’d like to cherry-pick a few other the nicer ones you haven’t done, take a look at my site – happy to recommend a few of my favourites too if you venture this way in the future! All sight holes open, pillar bolt visible, insufficient light for decent photograph at time of visit. At the top of the page is a list of my most visited trig points, followed by trig points broken down by area and by trig point type. Its prominent position made it the ideal site for the Winter Hill TV Mast, transmitting to a large part of North West England. I have decided as May is National Walking Month that I am going to theme my walks around trig points!

Heights are still ODN, and the waypoint identities have a 5 prefix, (not compatible with the primary file).Once back on the paved path I headed north towards Black Moss Reservoir and towards Marsden, joining up with the Pennine Way path again just after the reservoir. Followed the footpath through Norbreck farmyard and up a small rise for an easy bag on a gloriously sunny day. From the summit of Black Hill head Northwest on a small worn grass path, which eventually becomes more visible as it wanders down the hill.
