Description

From a writing standpoint, the story started a bit rough. The proofreading was solid, but the writing itself was clunky. It improved as the book went on (the story was originally released as a web serial) and I think I also just got used to it. While the writing was awkward, it never detracted from my understanding of what was happening, which was the most important thing. Book five is BIG! how big? The audiobook is thirty hours long (actually 29:59:05 but who's counting?) But not all people feel the same way about classes. The congregation of the Unity Church consider the classes and all changes to the System to be unnecessary. In this church, only some people get classes to protect others. Some Unity Church bishops appeared when a person without a class killed a Raid Boss.

Some of the characters in the story hold no depth whatsoever. They appear and disappear without contributing to the story whatsoever. This seems to be a common problem with authors who do not map out their stories. Stephen King is best know for this type of writing(not mapping), but it takes a certain understanding of how the story, characters and environment affect one another. In this book, he become the 'leader' of the raid and due to that he spends most of his time just standing there doing nothing and watching others or watching as things happen. Even when he should just kill everyone before him, he'd rather just watch and ' see what happens' because he has no clue what to do at all. Sure there are undisclosed issues with the system, and some things are less then fair and they’ve explained a very intriguing and interesting magic and skill system that has been expanded on by a class system. But why do we follow Randidly in this adventure? Why does he Ghosthound? In chapter 470 Randidly learned from Creature's memories that most races do not have as wide a variety of classes as humans. In their worlds there are a number of archetypes, variations of which give rise to all other classes. Creature believes that people's creativity before the System was the reason why they can get such different classes. Although most of the human classes are relatively weak, about one percent of people get an incredibly powerful class, which compensates for the weakness of the rest of the classes. This class provides most of the lift for the skyship. Aviators use their skills to ride up on columns of hot air and glide downwards to save energy. Class skills: Buoyancy and Lift. These skills allow Aviator to ionize the fabric that covers the skyship. Aviator can control the nearby winds and read the wind. The Aviator's skill levels determine the weight of the ship that he can lift and control.

I loved the world, the mysteries and even the progression of the Ghosthound. Sadly what this book proved was that the Ghosthound is not a good main character. He's great sure when there is something to push him. A quest, A mentor, A tournament, A goal.. Randidly Ghosthound is a person who is not connected to the Village or Tribulation, but he was able to became strong enough to defeat the Tribulation, who had somewhat fewer restrictions on the absorbable form left behind. He would effectively establish himself as an independent existence within the system, becoming a dungeon and losing his ability to absorb life from its subjects, solely absorbing meaning from the Nexus after its success, so the bindings were less complicated. After a few nudges they were practically nonexistent. He grew in himself his own primitive Aether Crossroads, which could absorb both life and meaning. The growing of the Aether Crossroads was facilitated by the Aether connections, which were created by the skills Blessing of the North, Blessing of the East, Blessing of the South and Blessing of the West. He's basically alone ranger and should be honest about being addicted to battles and developing himself and stop trying to pretend to care about others. Holy poop the author added so many stories to this book. Only 1 story might be considered complete and that was the raid to restore the ether.

As the final hurdle to becoming accepted by the System, Randidly must lead a group of Zone 32's best into the Raid Dungeon and complete the assigned Quests. And what starts as a simple horde survival mission becomes complicated when the Creature begins meddling again with his Fate. Although you are Randidly Ghosthound… you are not the pen that will write the legend of Randidly Ghosthound. This is going to be a weird review. I make that statement because I feel this review is going to sound contradictory. I liked this book. It is probably third on my list of good recent litrpg books behind He who fights with Monsters and the Defiance of the Fall series. The contradiction comes from my plan to do nothing but write about all the problems I had with this book for the rest of this review.
