Description

Digital audio began like any other new technology. It was amazing and new – limited and imperfect – and naturally became the adopted standard for the next generation. We loved the technology, but to us digital just wasn’t up to par. So, we decided to raise the bar and give music lovers the sound quality they deserved. Sure there were 16-bit CDs, but the audio spectrum contained on the master recordings was the true prize. After more than a decade of trial and error, the time had come. The portable players we all know and love had created a new way of listening to music, but there still wasn’t much heart there. Until now. Enter true, 24-bit hi-res digital audio. Please note that our couriers will try to deliver as arranged but we will not be held responsible for any costs incurred because of non-delivery or factors introduced by third-parties. This service is based upon best endeavour and is not guaranteed. or turntable, with HDMI eARC or the combo analog/digital input. Use the Bluesound POWERNODE EDGE as a discrete amp in a standalone setup or combine it with other BluOS devices to create a multi-room music system. Add That perception changed when I turned on the Pulse Sub+. It was as if Glover’s bass part had been doubled, with a lower octave now present, his instrument appearing more prominent in the mix. When I turned off the sub and listened to the same tune again, it sounded leaner. It wasn’t unpleasant, but I preferred the sound with the subwoofer engaged—it was more rounded and complete and had greater depth and muscle. The BluOSplatform and app make streaming fast and convenient from your favorite streaming services, including Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, AirPlay 2, and Roon.

The Bluesound Powernode Edge represents a perfect gateway into a setup where all you need is speakers - perfect for the age of streaming and high-resolution digital audio, all within a small but perfectly formed chassis. Add Speakers As further stated by Bluesound, the DirectDigital™ amplifier in the Powernode Edge aims to deliver 2 x 40 watts (8 ohms) of power and processes music files up to 24-bit/192kHz as well as MQA. Like all Bluesound devices, it works with the BluOS platform and is controlled via the associated app, which has built-in connectivity to many different music streaming services in addition to Internet radio. AirPlay 2 lets you play music or podcasts from wireless stereo components throughout your house — all in sync. Audiophile quality components/parts/chips supporting up to 24-bit/192 kHz digital audio are found under the hood of the Bluesound Powernode Edge. The Edge is slightly hobbled when decoding hi-res music files, with support for audio files limited to a maximum of 24-bit/192kHz. Although most audio file types are supported – including MQA – to play ultra-hi-res music files, you must upgrade to the more expensive BluesoundPowernode. However, the 24-bit/192kHz cap is perfectly adequate for most people.

Features

Direct digital amplifier technology is inherently suited for digital sources.Analog sources like a turntable, will need conversion to a digital signal. The PowerNode Edge can perform analog– to– digital signal conversion (ADC) to support analog sources.Hardcore vinyl enthusiasts may have an issue with that reality. Featuring a built-in, 40 watt DirectDigital amp, you simply need to add your choice of regular (passive) speakers for top quality sound. For a powerful 2.1 (sub/sat) system, add the Bluesound Pulse Sub+ wireless or your own wired subwoofer for a boost in bass. Alternatively, you can use the POWERNODE EDGE to power the rear speakers in a Bluesound surround sound set-up. Outputs to the loudspeakers are 5-way binding posts, there is a single RCA output to the subwoofer. There is a remote control available, but you won’t need it, a smartphone with the BluOS App is all you need. BluOS is so responsive and stable and is available in Android, iOS, Windows and macOS. Quality While the Bluesound Powernode Edge is mainly controlled by its app, a direct touch panel on the angled top panel can control essential functions.
