Description

However, I am not that starved that I’ll pay hundreds for some deluxe/ultimate simply to get a book of cool addendums like sketches, commentary, etc. We take intellectual property concerns very seriously, but many of these problems can be resolved directly by the parties involved.

Before the first film’s trailer was ever released, festival-goers were treated to an early look at “Fellowship,” as well as a tease of what was to come in the following two films. Cover illustrations by Tolkien (Lothlorien, Fangorn, Dunharrow) – these impressions of the Second Edition (16th, 14th, 14th) were the first appearance of these new cover designs. Please check out our other listings of Easton Press, Franklin Library, Limited Editions Club, First Editions Library, Heritage Press, International Collectors Library, and Folio Society editions. The “posters” which function more like postcards, show The Shire, Lake-Town, Erebor, the Anduin, Rohan, Minas Tirith and Rivendell.

Perhaps the 2013 editions aren’t mentioned in the 2022 set because they see them as totally separate? First things first, if it were up to looks alone , the”Ultimate Collector’s Edition” would easily earn that title.

The film received four Academy Awards® in 2001: Best Cinematography, Makeup, Score, and Visual Effects. The discs come in a beautiful, customizable box set that allows fans to have a number of ways to display the collection. Limited to a worldwide first printing of just 4,000 copies, this deluxe edition is printed in two colours and is fully bound in cloth and stamped in gold foil. The LOTR films were apparently scanned at 4k, with the VFX upscaled, and some (slightly ill-advised) DNR in an effort to make them look more like the Hobbit movies. Classic hardback edition of the first volume of The Lord of the Rings, featuring Tolkien’s original unused dust-jacket design.

The Hobbit movies were shot digitally at 5k resolution and were reportedly redone at 4k for this release, and look astonishing.
