I saw the ART DJPREII pre-amp recommended on another thread but really don't want to spend the money unless I have to. If you're looking for a quality set of speakers that can fit on a bookshelf yet won't look out of place elsewhere in your home — like on either side of a TV or in a corner with your record player — Edifier's R1850DB system will do the trick.

Considering the company’s previous success with similar budget speakers, we wanted to investigate if these would be a good fit for a home music studio. However, the top end lacks some fairness compared to larger dome tweeters and goes downhill a bit earlier in the frequency spectrum. I’m not going to say it is a perfect EQ solution but it was damn handy to just turn that knob and crank the bass when switching genres. The flared rear bass port is securely mounted to avoid rattling or tearing with use or when being moved around. The speakers are pretty loud with a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 85dbA, which is more than enough for most applications. The Bluetooth connectivity expands the unit’s compatibility to a range of portable devices like smartphones, tablets, and laptops.

Also, the distortion is minimal even at maximum volume, although I discourage you from running max capacity for long periods. The bass response is spot on, even with the trims set to neutral, and there is a good balance of high and mid-range. Edifier R1700BT Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers - Active Near-Field Studio Monitors - Powered Speakers. The recessed buttons feel natural, but the remote is inherently flimsy and will likely not last long. Having said that, it still delivers great quality audio and features like DSP and DRC noise reduction.

I noticed that the bass was really good, punchy and the adjustable levels on the back gave you extra depth when it was required. The R1700BT costs a little less, it has more refinement overall but struggles when you try and but the volume in a way that these R1850DB do not. With all said and done, both the Edifier R1700BT and R1850DB are high-quality mid-range speakers and offer exceptional sound quality. While not real wood veneer, the MDF is thick enough and a lot more durable than a cheap plastic material.

The included grilles offer an even cleaner design and also a good option if you have children with inquisitive fingers! Their differences do not affect the performance, and they can be excellent choices for studios and home entertainment. It achieves this by using Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Dynamic Range Control (DRC) technologies. The 4″ mid-bass driver features a rigid composite and a sturdy steel frame to hold it in place and prevent vibrations. I think the lights could do with being a little brighter, the issue only presents itself in day time. Adjust the volume, switch inputs, mute the speakers and control Bluetooth connected playback all from your fingertips. là sản phẩm mới thuộc dòng loa bookshelf (là loa để trên bàn, trên giá sách) hướng đến người dùng gia đình.
