We have a few issues trying to get the Akai Force and MPC Live II to sync via Link but, as soon as Ableton Live was running, they synced perfectly to that. Link works over wifi but there’s also support for Bluetooth MIDI in/out, as well as for devices such as computer keyboards, so you don’t have to keep tapping at the touch display to enter project names. Bluetooth audio, though, is not supported on any of Akai’s hardware devices. Solution home Akai Pro | MPC Series MPC Series | Frequently Asked Questions Akai Pro MPC Live and MPC 2.0 - Frequently Asked Questions The MPC has a well-earned reputation for sounds that hit hard and sound great, right out of the box. MPC Live is no exception. Pre-installed with 10 gigs of world-class sounds, The Vault 2.0 features samples and kits from top-notch sound design companies including Capsun Audio, MVP Loops, CR2 Records, as well as our own radio-ready kits. Want to incorporate your own samples without tethering to a computer? MPC Live features a 2.5” SATA drive connector providing more storage via external hard drive – SSD or HDD. Additionally, sounds can be accessed and added to the library using the built-in SD Card slot or the USB thumb drive.

The first of AIR’s insert effects is the wonderful AIR Half Speed. This effect can be used to create instant half-speed versions of any audio you send into it. You can also sculpt the affected audio with the onboard Low Pass and High Pass filters. The Fade In and Out parameters are great for smooth transitions between dry and processed audio. AIR Limiter Absolutely! Make sure your iLok is connected to the computer while authorizing the software and you will be able to choose it as a location to store the license during the authorization process. It is definitely replaceable, though we do not recommend that customers try this on their own to avoid voiding warranties and/or causing any damage to the unit. If the battery requires service or replacement, our support team is standing by and ready to provide service options!

Along the way the Akai Force emerged, sharing many of the MPC's features and technology, but with a different approach to making and performing music. This latest revision of the Live hardware shows that MPCs aren't being phased out in favour of the Force; the two will run in parallel, and might hopefully cross-pollinate in cool ways. Boom Box It even has a built-in stereo monitoring system so you can listen to your music right from the device itself. From the advanced multi-engine plugin synthesis of Hype to a faithful plugin emulation of the legendary Mellotron Tape Synth keyboard, MPC2 delivers a wide palette of sonic textures with its MPC plugin instruments for powerful music composition. If you don't want to work in front of a computer with mouse/keyboard, this is what you need. Not everyone has a powerful / decent modern computer to use DAWs. This can serve as a decent standalone machine to replace a DAWs. And you can always export the project into Ableton live if you need more refinement. This excellent update sees the inclusion of the wonderful DrumSynth addon to your production tools, adding unparalleled rythmic power to your already impressive toolset.Unlike the Force and MPC X, the Live and One encoders (Q-Links) don't have displays. I've generally found the red outline on the screen to work fine for showing what the encoders are controlling, but the new version adds a graphical overlay that pops-up when you touch the encoders. This is especially helpful if you're not in Screen follow mode, and is great in most of the instrument and mix effect views, as these have margins at the sides. For other views, though, the overlay obscures what's on the screen, and I ended up turning the feature off.

All in all, the MPC range is at the most appealing right now that it’s been in the 21st century. In terms of its balance of capabilities and convenience, there isn’t anything on the market to rival the MPC Live when it comes to realising the dream of wireless, go-anywhere music production. The hardware updates for v2 are subtle, but both speaker and CV ports add genuine usability. The MPC Live II is also the first MPC unit to feature built-in stereo monitors. Combined with a built-in battery and wi-fi/bluetooth connectivity, it's the perfect mobile production workhorse. Home, studio or on the move, the MPC Live II has got you covered. MIDI & Hardware Integration Akai Professional have seriously levelled up the MPC‘s MIDI and CV capabilities with update 2.10. Edit Any Control Name On top of that, you also have four capacitive-touch knobs so you've got great, tactile control over all your critical functions. Akai have reworked drums and keygroups to ensure a smoother workflow. Now you can add tail to any audio file to avoid abrupt and unnatural endings. There’s a new randomisation section as well, to add subtle variations to your drum samples. If that wasn’t enough, Version 2.10 adds eight effects slots for your drum pads, including bitcrush, decimator, soft clipper and many more! Key DetectionYes, but not many. You may notice some differences depending on your work style, though the main difference will be with VST support. MPC 2.0 supports VST plugins when used on your computer, however, these will be disabled when using the projects on the MPC X and MPC Live in standalone. If you use it in studio with lots of midi devices, you can make it the brain for midi too, no need to buy stuff like Bome box or MRCC. ( of cuz they are great if you need one in your setup ). Yes! Projects can be transferred and opened on any MPC live or MPC X considering all of the project's contents (samples, programs, sequences) are transferred as well. Considering there are differences in outputs and inputs on the MPC X versus MPC Live, you may notice that outputs or inputs are disabled if they are not available on the current controller. An amazing array of plugin ranging from Drum synth, polyphonic VA, macro synth, E-piano, and some beautiful recreation of Odyssey, Mellotron and Solina. In addition to those free plugins, you have the option to acquire paid deep FM synth, Piano/Organ/Strings plugins, great sounding rompler and now a Mini D recreation (an MPC is the perfect GAS killer). Striking the balance between ease of use and number of features is an ongoing struggle in the world of musical equipment. It's evident with the MPC Live II, however, that Akai are at the forefront of innovation.

Akai Professional launch v2.10, a free update to their acclaimed MPC series that adds 14 extra plugins and new features. The best part is, this firmware update is completely free for MPC One, Live, Live II and X owners. Akai Professional claim that this is their “most significant firmware release” yet. Once you’ve seen what’s in store, we’re sure you’ll agree! Granulator is one of the more interesting and out-there effects that come with MPC 2.10. This plugin transforms your audio into “grains”, which you can loop, pitch and manipulate in a variety of exciting ways. Akai Sample Delay Next, we’ll go over the brand new plugin instruments that come with MPC 2.10. These instruments can breathe new life into your beat-making, production or songwriting sessions and expand the MPC‘s already impressive sonic arsenal. Even one of these synths would’ve made us excited, instead, we have four new synths to play with. All of the new synths feature a gorgeous touch interface, which makes editing and pulling up a preset dead easy. AIR Hype If I record a sample while the MPC Live is in controller mode with MPC 2.0, is the sample recorded to my MPC X or my computer? The AKAI MPC Live II is a DJ gear device that measures 243.8 millimeters in width, 411.5 millimeters in depth, and 45.7 millimeters in height. It has a weight of 3380 grams, making it quite portable and lightweight.

Akai Professional‘s Sample Tail takes the stress out of chopping up drums breaks and samples. It does this by making it easy to add smooth, natural-sounding decays to the end of your samples. The Tail Length can be adjusted depending on how long you want the decay to be. Say goodbye to abrupt and jarring endings! On top of that, Sample Tail can be used to create delay and looping effects by tweaking the Tail Loop parameter. Super Envelopes TRS outputs (3 stereo pairs) (1) 1/4" (6.35mm) stereo headphone output (2) RCA inputs (1 stereo pair) Akai ’s MPC Live II is a refined and improved version of the original Live, which raised the bar for truly portable production workstations. Retaining its predecessor’s stylish looks and robust build-quality, the Live II expands upon it with an even smoother workflow, additional controls on the front panel, lighter form factor, CV connections and a punchy built-in stereo speaker - the Akai Live II is a more than worthy successor to its first iteration.
