The menstrual pad dropped into the dispenser with a soft thud. Her new boss, Tyler Dawes, CEO of Organicare, only needed one of the competitor's pads for the demonstration, but what if something went wrong? If they didn't secure more venture capital funding soon, the company would shut down and all of Organicare's employees would be out of work.

Sam says he has his contract and she gotta leave the place. Layla says he should show some respect! Her father is in coma at the hospital, she has nowhere else to go and family comes first. These characters are adorable, they have great chemistry, they have very well-fleshed out families and pasts, and I loved how much fun the fake fiancé thing was. I love that Daisy is really good at math and numbers and she’s obsessed with the Avengers. Her character is so adorable and quirky. Liam irked me a lot in the beginning but after I learned more about him I grew to love his character too. The book is actually second in a series, The Marriage Game trilogy, but it isn’t necessary to read the first book to understand the second or third, as they aren’t really related. For me, reading about characters that look like I do means everything. Growing up, I read a grand total of three books with South Asian main characters and they were either about the immigrant experience or about first gen kids who wanted to fit in (which in these cases meant be white). Those are absolutely valid stories, but I love to see myself represented in things like romcoms.I thoroughly enjoyed Desai's debut The Marriage Game earlier this year and couldn't wait to read Daisy's story. If you're someone who loves your rom-com hijinks high-key, your protagonists full of tension (and steam), and your side characters fun and lil bit outrageous, you're in for a treat with The Dating Plan. Liam was a broody little mess and Daisy was the perfect mix of smart and a touch quirky without going full-on Zooey Deschanel. Why everything has to be sexualized? Why you can’t just see a women? rather than her body? Why can’t love be sweet, cute and real? Why you have to just talk about the body? what about the other things? At these depressing, high tension, ill-fated, virus mania days, this kind of LAUGH OUT LOUD novels are the best medicine for our souls! I enjoyed my reading time so much as I did with the other books. Looking forward to next work of Ms. Desai! When we have a Tortured Hero who’s also The Older Brother’s Best Friend, we’re in for a good time. Marriage of convenience isn’t a trope I really gravitate towards, but the enemies to lovers and fake dating in this drew me in. I also read this the weekend after January 6th and it was a perfect and necessary escape from *gestures wildly.*

Thank you so much to Berkley Publishing Group for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!I am so infatuated with love stories that involve people having a friendship or knowing each other from grade school. There is so much history and understanding between the main character Daisy Patel and her high school crush Liam Murphy, who is also her brother Sanjay’s old best friend. Although a story like this is unlikely to ever happen in real life, many of the events that took place in the beginning were surprisingly realistic (for me anyways). I like that Daisy and Liam get to know each other again and open up about things from the past, contributing to their commitment issues. In this case, however, the gold medal winner of the twist ’n’ tangle in the women’s restroom at the Oakland Convention Center happened to be her ex-boyfriend, Orson Fisk.
