Description

Easy to put on and take off when entering buildings or vehicles, Yaktax® Walk are ideal for commuters, shoppers and other pedestrians who have no choice other than to walk on icy pavements. The 1.2mm steel coils are protected against rusting and hand-wound to give you 360 degrees of traction on ice and snow.

We're ice cleats and shoe traction device experts. We don't sell every ice cleats brand. We only sell the best because, although no ice cleat can guarantee you won't slip on the ice, the slightest difference in the design of an ice cleat can make big difference in reducing your risk. Furthermore, you don't have to guess about which ice cleats or shoe attachments are best for you. The expert, free advise you need is a phone call away at 610-670-2549. Yaktrax® Walk ice grips are made out of an injection moulded thermal plastic elastomer designed for easy on and off. A ladies casual shoe and a men’s working boot may share the same EU footwear size and yet have quite different footprint circumferences.

Important Warnings and Safety Tips

There’s a few obvious features to each product that might make it preferable to the other. For example, Yaktrax are much more affordable and work better for road running in slushy conditions whereas Microspikes would dig into the tarmac and slow you down. However, Yaktrax break more easily and don’t stay on the foot quite as well as Microspikes. Microspikes are much more sturdy and durable, they stay on your feet better and the spikes definitely cut deeper into the ice to provide better traction, but they come with a heftier price tag and aren’t suitable for running in. Ice grips with spikes can use the irregular surface of concrete pavements and tarmac to give you a better grip in such conditions but you would still need to take extra care and the spikes would wear out. If buying the Yaktrax® Pro and wearing hi-domed footwear such as steel-toe-capped safety boots, please buy the larger of the two suitable sizes if the footwear circumference is where the Yaktrax® sizes overlap, 64cm, 72cm or 76cm. Why size is important

Yaktrax are a consumable just like any other article of clothing or ice cleat. How long your Yaktrax Walk lasts depends upon several factors including Yaktrax® Walk ice grips are the most popular ice grips from Yaktrax®. Lightweight and comfortable to wear. The footprint circumference in our Yaktrax® Size Chart is often more accurate than shoe size alone. Measure in a loop around the outside edge of shoe or boot, as shown, where the Yaktrax® naturally grip the outside edge of the footwear. Yaktrax® ice grips have the ability to stretch by around 6cm. The Yaktrax® Size Chart shows the minimum and maximum circumference as measured in the photo. We don't wait until the incorrect size is returned before sending out the correct size. That's important because the sooner you're wearing ice cleats or shoe traction devices, the safer you are. Footwear sizing is based on the inside fit of the shoe or boot to our feet. As Yaktrax® fit on the outside of the footwear, it is the actual footprint or circumference that is relevant when you choose the correct size. Too large and there is a risk of the Yaktrax® falling off and being lost or acting as a trip hazard. If the Yaktrax® are too small, they could become over-stretched and develop weak points which snap. If the size of Yaktrax® is too large for the footwear, the coils could extend beyond of the shoe or boot.
