Now the book is easy to guess, at every juncture but didn’t bother me at all and heightened the excitement as knew what was about to happen The fact that she's delighted that a Doctor is now following her progress and makes her feel validated was when I realised I was hooked.

This book would have strongly benefited from multiple narrators since it was not always clear who was saying what as each chapter unfolded. Marcus never really got over his first love at school and even though he is now married with children, he still thinks of her.All in all a dark book about a man who appears to be the epitome of all that is great when actually he is the reverse, and then some

I really liked Georgie as a character - her excitement of finally becoming pregnant whilst her love of fitness and high online following to incorporate the two is rather sweet. I can be quite harsh when it comes to the details of medicine and the medical profession in a fictional book. But, in this case, I was able to suspend some disbelief and go with the story of a stalker physician. Driving to work one morning, his mind elsewhere and not on the road, he almost mows down a female jogger on a crossing. As she runs on, Marcus is transfixed. Infatuated. She is the spitting image of a girl he was crazy about in his teens. A girl he has never been able to get out of his mind. On his way to work he is rushing through traffic as he’s running late and nearly hits a blonde woman who is out running. When he sees her his world stops as she looks just like Lynette, his first love.Georgie is finally happy. It took me a little longer to get into the flow of this thriller, though I put that down to the Jersey setting - even his Cold Hill books are set in Sussex.
