About this deal

i wish we were given a chapter or two of his ups and downs with his time in rehab, not just skip to after the 30 days and his life is suddenly a bliss?

Cal decides that it is finally time to get sober for himself and that he owes himself the changes that could come along with it. His father yells at Cal for being a disappointment and Cal dissed him back, he’s a mess but he’s a good guy that needs help. Alana was such a force and was full of deep compassion and love while also creating boundaries and a safe space for her family. And, as Brady Kane would have had it, the house is filled with asbestos causing Lana and Cami to have to live in the guess house with Cal.

In a flashback, Lana was gonna go on a date, Cal was pissed and told her to kiss him as a dare and it was her first kiss. Parts where nothing interesting happened, repetitive dynamics, I reached page 300 and I couldn't take it anymore. Obviously from prior books, I knew of his problems going into this last one, but since he does not go to rehab until the last 80% of the book, his addiction reads as the sole villain of the story. I didn't find her charismatic at all,on the contrary, she's boring, unbearable, she wasn't funny at all no matter how much the author described how Cal laughed all the time, I didn't even lift the corner of my lips even once.

and i'll come back to this book, regularly, because despite all the tears i shed, cal and alana were a source of pure joy. No, there’s no confirmation of Antonella’s book but we might see her in the Lakefront series or not because some characters from final offer are getting their books. lauren asher saved the best for last not only in Kane brother, but also in plot, character development, and writing. rowan and declan i hope you're embarrassed, your younger brother has more brain cells and less daddy issues than both of you combined. I didn't really like Lana and Cal, so the constant "I hate you" to "I love you" vibes got annoying after a while.

Someone tell me why the townies of that shithole cared so much about what had happened, I really can't handle people who meddle in other people's lives. My favourite part of Final Offer was the epic trip to Dreamland (the Kane family’s Disney-esque theme park), which included a princess makeover and fireworks! i think some scenes didn’t add anything new or enlightening to the book and i really think it could have been chopped a bit. As much as I love the grumpy sunshine trope going on with the first two books, I love the golden retriever energy that Cal has and his undying loyalty that he has. And, he decides that he would spend every last second of a sober life proving to Lana that he is the man that could give her and Cami a life filled with love.

Am sure Lauren Asher tried her best to pour heart and soul in this book but it came across as trying too hard. Camila (Cami) and Lana (Alana) are home when Cal shows up, Lana watched him through her door and saw him talking to himself about being scared of being a bad parent.I really think that Lauren Asher tried to make a strong main character, who didn't forgive the mmc for everything, or who thought that the power of love could change him, but it turned out very badly.

I was curious how the third act would be used with it and am very much pleased with the way Asher approached the story. She has a good life in Lake Wisteria where she knows that the small town of people love them and would protect them like a family. I always knew he was gonna be my fave LA man but it’s good to finally confirm it 😌 disclaimer: I had full Cal blinkers on for this book. It will either be the end of them, permanently, or it will be the thing that finally gets Cal to expect more from himself. He was really thoughtful when he was sober and for all the hell that all the other characters put him through he never lashed out.
