About this deal

My Sky controller switches on both the TV and the soundbar, but I use the TV remote control to switch off the TV and soundbar together. It also doesn’t have a good bass performance, but this won’t matter as much since there isn't much bass on center channels to begin with. The Dolby Duel surround sound system and built in subwoofer is superb and the units size of just under 2ft or 600mm in length will fit on or under most TV stands. It uses the left and right speakers to create a sound in the center, which sounds more diffused and less clear compared to a discrete center, but the performance is still good overall. I have a Quad hifi set up in my main home, and whilst that is obviously better, the SF200 does not sound horrible in comparison (as I expected it to).

The Sony HT-S200F is an okay sounding soundbar that lacks a bit of bass and performs quite similarly to the Sony HT-S100F. However, the Sony has less compression at max volume, so it's better-suited for use in loud parties. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. By signing up you agree with this and confirm that you are over 13 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or guardian. On the other hand, even with an integrated subwoofer, this soundbar can’t really produce deep bass thump and punch, which will negatively affect its performance with movies.

On the upside, the soundstage is focused, which is good as objects seem to come from an accurate pin-point location rather than a general area. Everything is downmixed to stereo and doesn’t feel as real as a discrete surround experience offered by tower speakers.

It has Bluetooth connectivity for wirelessly streaming music, as well as HDMI ARC and optical ports (for linking it to your television) and a USB socket. Built-in subwoofer There's no need to reconfigure your living room to find space for your subwoofer. The THD performance of this soundbar is great at a normal volume around 80dB and will create a clean and pure sound. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.I really didn't want a large soundbar or separate sub woofers etc so opted for this and am absolutely delighted. It adds more depth to these new wafer thin smart tv’s and the sound fills our small cottage lounge adequately. However, when pushed to its max volume, there’s a small jump in THD across the range, but this shouldn’t be audible to most, especially with real-life content.

At first we couldn't get the soundbar to respond to the Sky Remote and it wasn't displaying the volume range on the screen. Plays music directly from my phone via Bluetooth and switches on with using the tv remote, a benefit of using the arc connection. Its soundstage is also noticeably small and is even narrower than the bar itself, which is short to begin with.

When connected via Bluetooth to a mobile device and you ask Google Assistant a question, the answer will come from the bar. I realised eventually that I needed to change the sound source on my Toshiba TV which isn’t mentioned in the included instructions. It's easy to stream music via a Bluetooth connection, and the bar offers four EQ presets including a dedicated 'Music' mode. It also has a dialogue enhancement feature as well as an HDMI ARC input so it supports Dolby Digital. It also doesn’t support DTS, which is disappointing, especially if you watch a lot of Blu-ray movies.
