Even if I didn't know she was famous, and I followed her by my nose, I'd be digging her just by this scent. It smells EXACTLY like Meow, except that this is the creepy Nicki Minaj armless death mask bottle and Meow is a little pink kitten.
tl;dr: A celebrity fragrance like people who don't know many of them imagine all celebrity fragrances to be.
My most exotic and tropical fruity floral perfume, deliciously sweet and flirtatiously sultry, somehow I never tire of her. I know a lot of people don't like the bottle, but I have an appreciation for Nicki and I think the smell and bottle are very her. Yes, it does smell similar to Justin Bieber Someday, which in turn smells similar to Katy Perry Meow, which in turn smells similar to the original of this fragrance format, Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy. Some people compare this to Viva La Juicy, but this is actually closer to Juicy Couture LaLa Malibu. It also has a slight resemblance to minajesty but I think that one is a lot more fresh and tart because of the lemon note .
When I purchased this, I was definitely expecting it to smell similar to Moonlight as that's one of the top rated on the "reminds me of" section. Sparkling with the aroma of mouth-watering fruits, The heavenly fragrance imparts a playful cloud of pink floral petals that whisper the sultry warmth of vanilla, skin musks and woods.
It's not as sweet as you would think and lasts longer than a lot of other celeb scents that came out around the same time. Newsflash: Marc Jacobs and Thierry Mugler don’t either (sorry Thierry, you know I still worship you). Both are absolutely lovely, I think Pink Friday is slightly stronger and longer lasting, but neither have any wow in their staying power. Later, on August 3, she revealed that her fragrance will have a theme song (just like her others commercials with Pepsi and Adidas). It doesn’t take long to get to the base, which is very pleasant burnt-sugar/caramel musk, but the base is holding on strong at hour four.
The right person could pull this off- but really I suggest spraying lightly, as I've only sprayed it once and it's pervasive.I’ve had my bottle since 2016, and I still have a little over 2/3 in the bottle because I wanted to collect the entire set. It has some redeeming features, I don't find the vanilla to be obnoxious, and it smells a little like a vanilla frappe along with the caramel. I don't wear the Juicy personally( I've owned and worn it in the past), but saying Pink Friday smells like it is a bit of an insult, IMHO. I can appreciate Nicki Minaj's efforts to make a decent perfume but I don't think that the recipe was as good as she thought it would be.
