Since most users won’t have access to hardware colorimeter tools, it is important to understand how the screen is going to perform in terms of colour accuracy for the average user. Asus includes Extra Low Motion Blur that runs up to 144 Hz but disables Adaptive-Sync in the process.

ASUS is no stranger to making some of the best-looking gaming monitors on the market, with the new ROG Strix XG27UQ being no different. Input lag seem non existent, overall I kept this monitor as it serves me in every aspect of what I want from a screen, thats to say its fairly future proof given that it will cater for next gen consoles and next gen gpu's to get full advantage of the 144hz in 4K (probably 3080ti) but that said its a great screen in general, if you're not too fused about running 4K stuff then look elsewhere but if you sit close to the screen like I do when I play then 4k all the way lol. Sliding down mountains and running across large parts of the map as Octane, you have to run super-fast and fluidly. It allows for a good amount of ergonomic adjustments so that you can place the screen at your optimal viewing position, and its decent viewing angles make it easier to share content with others.Even the menus of Apex Legends stood out, while waiting in the lobby the red on the cloth looking blood red -- almost lifelike. When viewed next to another 27-inch monitor with a thin flush bezel, the Asus screen actually looks larger. We will carry out an assessment when relying on legitimate interests, to balance our interests against your own.It has a good wide color gamut and gets decently bright in HDR, but the local dimming is terrible and can be quite distracting. The ASUS has a higher 4k resolution to deliver a sharper image, but it requires high-end hardware with a GPU that supports Display Stream Compression to achieve high frame rates at 4k. After setting the backlight to 200 nits, we worked a bit in Windows apps, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

I got this monitor to replace a PG278Q, which was starting to develop odd white stains, and never had good color reproduction in the first place (TN film drawbacks, very low gamma resulting in excessively bright shadows, under-saturated shadows, etc.On my unit, there’s a little bit of blue-ish bleed on the lower left corner, and some dark-grey-orange bleed for a good third of the upper-left.
