About this deal

My sniper sergeant would be my warlord, and I planned on rolling on the DA table, in the hope of getting Ignore Cover/Precision shots. Like usually, we’ll leave some points left over for you to spend on whatever wargear you might need later.

But with this list you can really take anything that ISN’T Hail of Doom, Masterful Shots, or Children of Prophecy. If you know you will come up against lots of marines, for example, make sure you have enough high AP weapons to deal with Armor of Contempt or a Warlock with JINX to reinforce your Shuriken units. Dire Avengers are another good pick for the simple reason that they can perform an action on the same turn that they lay down a withering hail of shuriken murder, and so on. The Aeldari once ruled the galaxy, before their civilisation collapsed beneath the weight of its own hedonism. With such a small board and objective-driven victory conditions, even very slow units have no trouble getting into the fray turn 2. The ranks of the Drukhari are filled with fleet and agile warriors, each armed with weaponry designed to inflict maximum pain and, through their innate poise, they raise their torturous form of war into a gruesome artform. These are a great melee unit and great for throwing at infantry units you’d like to… what’s the term?

With so few models on the table, it is very difficult to spread out and prevent deepstrikers from appearing in your backfield or within charge-distance of a vulnerable unit. A hobbyist, player, and collector of miniatures and games, Adam's current obsession are his Death Armies for Age of Sigmar, his Blood Angels and Tyranids for 40k, and his ever growing Arkham Horror: The Card Game Collection. inch (25 mm) thick foam tray with 24x 1 1/4 x 1 1/4 inch (32 x 32 mm) cut outs, 3x 1 1/4 x 1 inch (32 x 25 mm) cut outs, 8x 1. Unfortunately, I rolled a weapon destroyed on the shuriken catapults, meaning it would be able to move away and shoot at me next turn. The primary mission was a single objective in the center of the table, which generated Dangerous and Difficult terrain in a radius of 6″ and 12″ around it, respectively. You can still make "Engage on All Fronts" viable, but you really have to build your list around it to do so, and even then you may struggle to score points as you inevitably lose one or two units early on. There are some tanks and transports, for example, that don't hit hard enough to constitute a serious threat.

If you can deal a blow so hard that your opponent doesn’t have enough left to retaliate in kind, you can win the primary objective game that way too. I'll probably purchase another box so I can build this one for the Combat Patrol format, and the other one how I'd like. The Warpcraft Secondaries can be excellent against lists without psychic denial, but unless you find the points for a Warlock Conclave, you will need to use at least 1CP most turns for “The Multifaceted Mind,” so you can still make use of your Farseer to cast a conventional power. As a result, units that can deepstrike, especially those that can do so without spending CP, are especially useful. Today we’re looking at the Aeldari Combat Patrol box, continuing our series of 1,000 point start armies using the Combat Patrol boxes as our base.

That was one kill point, Slay the Warlord and First Blood to my enemy, as well as one of my better units gone. Each craftworld's Guardians take up arms to defend their dying race, wielding deadly shuriken catapults or power blades, or shredding foes atop their swift Windrider jetbikes. This will mean when they all open fire there should be on average 3-4 hits that go straight to the enemies save roll step.If she doesn’t, you maneuver your bikes into position to hit her on turn two along with the Guardians using the “Webway Strike” stratagem. Against of 500pt list that relies on one or two very powerful close combat threats, your opponent has to choose between just letting you have the objective or punching out the Warwalker with an expensive melee unit that is then subject to a powerful counter attack by the rest of your army. Once part of a galaxy-spanning empire, the Drukhari now indulge in every macabre passion their supreme intelligence can conceive. Consider also picking some secondary objectives that will pose a significant challenge for you at the table. This abstract narrative complexity is accounted for with victory points, very few of which are scored directly by destroying enemy units.
