Description

This is a warm and enveloping spice bomb, which can be overwhelming at first, give it an hour and it turns into this soft cinnamon hug, a chai latte pillow that you can’t get enough of.

So first tip here would be to try a very small amount directly on your skin, NOT on paper, because its opening is a punch in the teeth. Please note that this service might transfer the data outside of the EU/EEA and to a country without the required data protection standards. I had to get really used to the center staged cloves in the beginning, but they slowly tone down and leave room for an extremely well balanced perfume which is present yet subtle on me. I wanted a warm, unique fragrance for the cooler months, but I think this is signature scent worthy. I had this five years ago, but sold it; shifting tastes caused me to seek it out again, and I’m glad I did!I guess in that way I could see wearing it any time of year and just leaning into different interpretations of clove. I am guessing that with added humidity and warmth in summer it may well turn into a simmering subtropical rainforest. Jungle L'Elephant is an elixir by Dominique Ropion, made with the best and most delicious spices a jungle could offer.

For a while I underestimated this “little” elephant (I’m not the biggest fan of fruit notes, let alone mango), but after I found out that this was one of the immortal Elke Maravilha's favorite perfumes (a Piscian like me), I tried to get to know it, and all prejudices fell apart, becoming one of my favorites. In That being said a nice perfume friend that I met here sent me a sample of this iconic perfume and I have to say I am very, very glad she did! This is sweet/sour, I was expecting spicy cinnamon buns but what I get from Elephant is more apple pies (not overly sweetened or ripe). It’s a crazy strong perfume so not for the faint of heart, In a way I’m sad I’ve smelt this because every other fragrance now feels like it severely under preforms in comparison to Kenzo L’éléphant. L'Elephant makes me want to curl up next to my fireplace wrapped up in a warm cozy blanket, whilst sipping on my chai latte. It's a tiny bit more like Opium and has a note about five minutes in that is a hint of church incense and then quickly gone. It was still spicy but the sweetness in the formulation had developed, and in partnership with the light floral additions it stops it from being that acrid 'body odor' complaint that a lot of 'spicebombs' get. It’s definitely unique, smells like clove and cinnamon mixed with porta potty freshener , then the dry down has an old school cover girl foundation smell or an after sun lotion that reminds me of the old school foundation .

The mother had a well-chosen collection of perfume on display in both bathrooms (not best practice for perfume storage, but that's another story). When I first got it I was very disappointed and thought that it was far too acidic and the spices too dry and shy. I was having second thoughts about the cumin cuz i hated it in Rose 31, but its not even prevalent here. On me it smells like someone spilled vinegar over me and then dropped the contents of their spice cabinet on top.The bottle is lovely and I'm still wondering if there's anyone out there who can actually pull this off. I was hoping to win the durability lottery, and I'd read that the original was more sweet and spicy and less sour.
