About this deal

Easy to grow , I did start them off indoors under a plastic cover , then planted out once hardened off a few weeks later. Of all the annual flowering plants you can grow in your cutting garden (or even the back of your veggie patch), none are more productive than cosmos. Noted for its unique color, Cosmos bipinnatus ‘Apricot Lemonade’ is an upright, bushy annual boasting single, pale apricot flowers, 3-4 in. We hold a reputation for introducing more plant varieties to the British gardening public than any other seed company.

Place the seed tray in a propagator at a temperature of 18-25C (64-77F) or seal it inside a polythene bag. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.Unfortunately, cosmos is grown as an annual but the good news is that it’s super easy to grow from seed again in the following spring.

Gently tuck your seeds into the soil, making sure they’re cozied up at around 20°C to encourage speedy sprouting. Very easy to grow from seed, and they will give you many, many flowers- the more you cut the more they give. The newest (and to me the loveliest) of the new breedings of cosmos trialled in the garden here – soft, ethereal and quiet. We are so pleased to hear you have an abundance of flowers, and hope they continue well into Autumn. The dovetailed, peachy outer petals draw your eyes inward, past a ring of mauve and into the yellow center–you can imagine how this beauty seduces native pollinators with ease!

Even the best pictures don't really do justice to the incredible tones of this cosmos - like a summer sunset, almost seem to glow. Awarded for their novelty in 2018, these cosmos bloom early, gracing your garden with their unique charm.

While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. These cookies help provide information on metrics the number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc. Fairly pest-free and low maintenance, add this charming plant to the landscape, and you will be rewarded with abundant butterflies. The colour varies a little, some are a more peachy yellow than others, but none are so different that they don’t fit in. It’ll encourage these beauties to grow nice and bushy, ensuring a breathtaking display of vibrant flowers.

I sowed batches of four seeds of 'Apricot Lemonade' in 7cm pots on the windowsill in April, moved them into a sheltered spot outside when they came through and then planted out the potfuls, without breaking them up, at the end of May. I'm extremely disappointed because while the seeds had a fabulous germination rate- now they've bloomed the colour is 'Gloria' and not Apricot Lemonade as stated. Individual blooms don’t last long in the vase, about 4-6 days, but each stem is loaded with multiple blossoms that open over a period of a week.Details: Type Half-Hardy Annual Position Cutting Garden Soil Broad Tolerance Flowers July - October Height 90cm (36in) Common name Mexican Aster Moisture Moist but Well-drained Aspect Full Sun Spread 45cm (18in) Cultivation Best sown under cover in April but can be direct sown in May. You can directly sow seeds once the soil has warmed up, but plants will flower relatively late in summer. While every effort has been made to describe these plants accurately, please keep in mind that height, bloom time, and color may differ in various climates.
