About this deal

That's not necessarily Dell's fault -- many laptop vendors implement USB Type-C in slightly different ways. Also, the DisplayLink solution does not support UMA-GFx card switching resulting in not being able to take advantage of GFx hardware acceleration. If you're uncertain about compatibility, it's a good idea to reach out to Dell's support or consult the manufacturer's documentation for your laptop to confirm compatibility with the Dell D6000 docking station.

Given that this cable is going to be plugged and unplugged possibly hundreds of times, this is a serious reason to consider the Plugable unit which has a fully detachable cable. You should be able to use the Dell Docks in Bidborough House and other sites to extend your diaply to two screens. If you are approved for a credit limit with PayPal Credit and use it for future purchases, the APR for those purchases won't be more than 23.It's worth noting that while the Dell D6000 docking station is compatible with a wide range of laptops, some specific models may have limitations or requirements that could affect compatibility or functionality. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. The Dell D6000 has issues when the machine is powered on from a cold start; it will not connect until you unplug it and plug it back in. Over Type-C, it connected to two DisplayPort monitors at the full 3840 x 2160, but the third, HDMI monitor ran at only 1080p and 60 Hz, with no obvious way to adjust it. You’ll be able to connect up to three 4K displays and charge a USB-C laptop up to 65W simultaneously.

Plus, with features like PXE Boot, Wake-on-LAN and more, it’s easier than ever to stay productive while managing your dock. And while the built-in adapter's implementation is clumsy, it's the cleverest solution out there that will move you from legacy ports to the newest standard. Can't speak for the longevity of the unit or support, but if you're considering the Dell D6000 or this Plugable, the Plugable is the clear winner. The Dell D6000 has less flexibility with the accepted video cables with 1xHDMI and 2xDisplayPort whereas this Plugable dock provides much more flexibility to use the cables you have. Only negative IMO is that you still need to plug your own power adapter if you want the laptop to charge (or maintain charge) - apart from that, it's working flawlessly. Some Dell Precision models may require more than the 65W that the Dell Universal Dock D6000 can deliver to charge the laptop.

The experience was the smoothest sailing with my everyday Dell XPS 15, but even that didn't work perfectly as advertised.Note that I only seem to be getting 144Hz on the monitor with the DP connection even though all three of my monitors are 144Hz. Just wanted to leave this here for folks who are looking for a docking solution to get multiple monitors on M1 hardware since I found a LOT of conflicting info when I was looking earlier this year.
