Description

Fragrance free, light weight & super sustainable. Made with a single ingredient, activated coconut charcoal. Sourced locally to the factory in Sri Lanka from coconut husks a repurposed by-product of the coconut harvest that would otherwise go to waste. There’s a pretty pungent smell of lavender that comes off these banana shoe deodorizers, but after several days of not having them in, the lavender started to reduce. In honesty, I was half expecting the lavender to just mask the odor rather than eliminate it but this doesn’t seem to be the case. Amazing! Boot Bananas Alternatives

Thankfully, all the ingredients of Boot Bananas Original Shoe Deodorisers are sustainable. Their fragrance uses essential oils. These are plant extracts without chemicals. The most hazardous thing here – the mixture might contain a few sharp lavender stems. They will remain effective even if they have turned slightly brown, but you can use this transformation to gauge how ripe your bananas are! This indicates how much moisture has been absorbed. Replace when common sense dictates. Triple-action active ingredients – Odour neutralising, moisture absorbent and with natural antimicrobial properties. Boot Bananas are moisture-absorbing shoe deodorizers designed to combat bad smells, deal with the bacteria that cause them, and absorb the moisture that encourages those bacteria to grow. Their creators, Alex and Phil, had just moved into their first flat together when it became apparent that Phil’s climbing shoes were a problem.Highly effective & long lasting – an average deodorising lifespan of 6 to 12 months with proper care. Designed to work on even the most offensive smelling footwear. Alexandra Bowers: No, but we’re very thankful for the support of our many friends from all kinds of different sectors of the creative industry. At the start we got lots of useful tips from them. Remove insoles and soak up excess moisture with newspaper, towel or a sponge before inserting fully regenerated Winter Sports Moisture Absorbers and leaving overnight.

Dry out your Original Shoe Deodorisers from time to time. If you have had a hard training session and they’ve absorbed a lot of foot sweat hang them up to dry in the sun or near a radiator. Everyone sweats different amounts and so it varies from person to person, but we recommend doing this approximately every 1 to 2 weeks. If forgetful have 2 pairs on rotation, so one is always hanging up to dry! These can help to revive an old pair of climbing shoes that have gone nuclear. The odor might not be completely eliminated. But you’ll no longer be receiving dirty looks from across the street. But for optimum performance, incorporate them into your new shoe care routine before your shoes stink. Preventing the bacteria from developing in the first place will keep your shoes fresh longer. But that lingering damp smell that’s particularly common in synthetic shoes is significantly reduced by the bananas – even in the gnarliest of shoes (like those accidentally left in a bag!). These guys definitely work. And they do so using plant extracts, salts, and minerals instead of synthetic chemicals. How Long do they Last? If submerged the silica beads will break and the Winter Sports Moisture Absorbers will no longer function effectively. WarningPhilip Osband: You can dispose them totally normally in your household rubbish. The ingredients and the cotton sheathing decompose in the dump, and you can definitely find another use for the metal carabiner included in the delivery. Philip Osband: We distributed test patterns to climbing gyms, and after many positive responses, started production of a small quantity in our flat. Then, when interest grew from climbing shops all over England, we had to professionalize and outsource our production in 2013. In the first year, we produced 4,000 units and supplied 35 shops in England this year, we’ll sell about 30,000 units to over 170 shops all over Europe. Cotton is a wonderful breathable fabric that allows the active ingredients to absorb moisture and neutralise odour. It is however prone to discolour & your Boot Bananas Original Shoe Deodorisers will turn brown over time especially with high frequency use. Boot Bananas are handmade in the UK and contain all natural ingredents: sodium bicarbonate, bamboo charcoal, zeolite, dried lavender flowers and lemon, lavender & tea tree essential oils. Designed by model maker Alex and her partner Phil, a climbing instructor, Boot Bananas were born out of their battle to banish the stink of Phil’s smelly shoes for good. We fought the funk
