Produced by Rick Rubin, its musical style differed notably from the techniques employed on the band's previous album Mother's Milk (1989), and featured minimal use of heavy metal guitar riffs. I Could Have Lied - A haunting song, you can tell it has a lot of meaning to Anthony, I suspect it's about a failed relationship.

Don't base this off of things like I'm With You, you'll be disappointed, between this album and By The Way was the best the Chili Peppers ever were. Apache Rose Peacock - Another funky one, similar to Mellowship Slinky in B Major to me for some reason, a great number. Also there is not information if it's the most recent remastered version as the inserts are not included you can't check the credits, etc. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. This album changed my outlook on music after I heard it the first time long long long time ago and still remains one of my 5 greatest records of all times. It included two printed inner sleeves, one red and one black – each with a band photo on one side and lyrics printed in white on the other. I am a huge Chilis fan - I am also a bass player and have owned much of the same gear that Flea has used over the years. It briefly comes alive on side 3 for Naked in the Rain and also the guitar intro to Funky Monks but it's not as good as it should have been.
