I will say that the logo/artwork printed on the side of the adaptor itself is pretty awful and nearly stopped me from making the purchase at all. The biggest challenge will be the battery life of the S1R versus the Canon DSLR, and I recommend having three batteries per body if you are shooting video, going out to the landscape for more than two days, or more than three-thousand photos in a day. I saw no difference in lens performance or metadata coming through to the LUMIX S5II with the switch in either position.
In any case I think that the general consensus was that it was Panasonic that was blocking C-AF in their camera bodies and not the adapter manufacturers at fault. I've updated this review of the adaptor in April 2022 to note that a new firmware update has been released for this adaptor. With such a big investment in EF lenses - mostly from my much earlier dslr days - it must be obvious why I am not that interested in replacing them with a new investment. Different lenses may exhibit different operating characteristics depending on lens age and manufacturer.About 20% of the time, all of my lenses will misfocus spectacularly, meaning, they will focus on a far away background object.

L IS II and the 70-200mm f4 L IS work quite well - slower than native on a Canon 5 series body of course but quite useable.
