The secondary characters banded here more than ever, and I adored seeing every single one of the swoon-worthy Mafiosos. As you can imagine she is shocked the next morning and he is a very happy man who knows that she will see this is what is best for them both. I enjoyed the development of the couple’s relationship, which had good pacing and likable characters.

They love each other for years but only got together officially when both of them are 26 and 34 years old. I read this book in mere hours and I have to admit that I liked this one more than the other books in the series. There were pivotal parts of this story I hadn’t seen coming and if I’m going to be completely honest, wasn’t the slightest bit prepared for. They went through some violent and dark times but they are so strong together that they can beat any enemy. We are told and shown that she is a Bratva Princess and was raised to be fearless considering who her parents are but to see her take down the men around her and not give up was amazing.It had lots of angsty moments and how Maria was tortured was too much for me…The HEA made up for it thanks for that.

And last but not by any means the least is Viktor, who is not only the youngest of the group and is the head of the Bratva.An the fierce nature that came out in Mariya when she was pushed to her breaking point and the power that is her parents came out and she showed just who she was which was amazing. They’ve been attracted to each other for years, but neither of them have a clue, how the other feels. Well what follows is a lot of death and destruction, but when Mariya is kidnapped and consequently tortured, the entire Priesthood yet again join forces and it's time to take out the trash. The drunken idea to get married worked in his favor and it made all his dreams come true and to be honest all her dreams true too. As always, Heard has included some great comradery and solid bonds that are just as gripping to see as the romantic aspects of the story.
