In fact, it wouldn’t surprise us if this goes on to be the best-selling book about BPD of all time, he really is that loved among the BPD community.

So I used to chat with Joe on social media long before the world knew his name and his love of leotards. At times it’s side-splitting funny, at other times I couldn’t read on without having a breather, but I got through it (much like Joe has) and I am all the better for it. The book is a difficult read and Joe talks through his life from one sh*tty moment to the next but he's made me feel less alone in my struggles and by far he's given the most practical and actionable advice on preventing su!

Sure thing, we don’t experience BPD’s symptoms the same way, it’s different for everyone but i still could relate on so many things written by Joe. In this book I want to try and explain what life is like when you have a brain that is essentially trying to murder you every day. Bravo Mr Tracini what a masterpiece you have created, thank you for letting us into your mind and life! He also helped put an explanation to some of the things I was feeling I knew I was feeling that was but it helped me articulate it through his own experiences.Back in the day of his old hollyoaks videos who knew the pain and trauma going on behind his eyes and these days even on the worst of days Joe has kept me going in ways he can never imagine and I hope he knows how his honesty over his condition helps so many people every day and his amazing dance videos gave us all something to hold onto during lockdown. Ultimately, this is a story of hope and encouragement, telling us that no matter how hopeless life might seem, if we just wait for maybe as little as a few minutes, things will get better. My adult career has been trying to undo everything that I taught myself growing up about how to be like my dad.

It's so common for people with BPD to take their own lives that it's one of the only mental illnesses that lists suicide as a symptom. Fear of abandonment, unstable relationships, chronic feelings of emptiness, impulsive self-destructive behaviours, explosive anger, self-harm, paranoia and disassociation, extreme emotional mood swings and an unclear, unstable self-image. Originally in the public eye as an actor, comedian and presenter, Joe has gained an enormous following on Twitter in recent years as he uses the platform to open up about his mental health. In one video, Tracini sings a song about the erectile dysfunction caused by his BPD; in another, he wears a snorkel and a thong to protect himself from Covid-19; elsewhere, he chats to Miriam Margolyes while she is chomping on a raw onion to ensure he keeps his social distance.

In the videos, he explains that being suicidal is a mindset, not an event – and it is a mindset he is constantly trying to understand. I have been aware of Joe Tracini for some time, as I was a huge fan of Joe Pasquale growing up, and so saw Tracini involved with some of Pasquales entertainment shoes.

So I bought it for my eReader and before too long I realized that this was not a BS account of someone's issues that I couldn't identify with or didn't give a crap about. Then I discovered, along with so many others, that Joe has struggled with BPD and that lead to struggles with substance abuse and suicidal thoughts. The way Joe articulates himself On such a difficult subject with his humour and raw emotion is exceptional. His cousin, who had flunked university, taught him in the shed at the bottom of the family’s garden in Kent. When he started posting his videos, thousands of people wrote to him, checking how he was and telling him he had made a difference to their lives. I saw his 48 second gymnastics commentary on Twitter and immediately started following him, not knowing anything more about him.
