A school trip turns into a nightmare when Kim and Wes leave the plague-village of Eyam with more than they bargained for, and a stolen artefact wreaks revenge. Someone is trying to kill her throughout the whole thing, and she's trying to figure out what to do with her relationship with Jase and why Taylor is acting weird. However, I was a little surprised when I discovered it was going to be a reverse-harem series, but I can't say I mind. The Meh: The writing isn’t horrible, although the pacing leaves something to be desired (which I’ll get to soon). Some folks are in organized crime for the money, some because of family ties, and some because default society has utterly failed them.

Her meekness annoyed me at times, her constant need to apologise and show gratitude, but there came a point where I realised her behavior was an instinctive response to her trauma, and it was actually something I recognized in myself. I mean that not as a criticism but as an objective fact: the book as a whole is maybe 5% Things Actually Happening and 95% Words About Nothing Happening. This task is not as easy as it sounds and the threat of what will happen if Claire fails looms over the four. Though he never has visitors, he tried to be a good host to Hazel, and it was so cute to see how much he cared about treating his guest right.Review: Scarlett Wakefield is on a week-long school-sponsored trip to Scotland, where she suddenly seems to be the target of an unknown assailant determined to injure — and perhaps even kill — her, in Kiss of Death, the fourth and final mystery in this series for young adults by Lauren Henderson. I really can't wait to read what she brings us next in Ghost Town, which will be released in January 2011. she's a wilting daisy woven into a entryway mat everyone stomps all over and i really hope she grows beyond that personality in future books. Your Family and the Flints have agreed to negotiate, but will you be able to broker a peace when your heart is still at war? I’m a bit behind and need to catch up – Ghost Town is just sat looking at me and waiting to be read!On a school trip to the plague village of Eyam, Seth is moved by the story of how villagers sacrificed their lives to the dreaded Black Death.

FMC is awful and spineless, nothing happens literally at all through the whole book, no excitement, no emotion and over all just a waste of time. Synopses: Scarlett thought Dan McAndrew's murder was long behind her, but when she and her classmates arrive in Edinburgh for a weeklong field trip, she's startled to be joined by her old St. You don’t even meet the MMC until the second half of the book, and the relationship progresses very little until the last couple of pages. This might not be the book for everyone, but I really did enjoy it, and I absolutely will continue on with the series to see where it takes us. This should have been half of a full book because absolutely nothing happens and the main character's helplessness angers me incredibly.

In Choices Insiders December 2022, PB confirmed that the book will be released generally in February 2023. It was more intense than I expected as well, though it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing as it set the tone and gave the necessary back story for Hazel’s character and her motives. I feel like the timing and flow of the plot was a little off but other than these things I really loved the book.

I did feel like the story left a little to be desired by the end, but given there are two follow up books, I can understand why this was done. If you want to read a book that grips you and doesn’t let go, and isn’t 1000 pages long (I’m looking at you Crescent City by SJM), this book is for you.A student now at Wakefield Hall Collegiate, run by her aunt, she thought she had left the past behind.
