Guitarist Jimmy Page had joined The Yardbirds in their final days and played a crucial role on their last album.The group was originally named the New Yardbirds, because guitarist Jimmy Page had been playing with the Yardbirds following the departure of Eric Clapton in 1965, but proceeded to take the name Led Zeppelin after joining up with vocalist Robert Plant, drummer John Bonham, and bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones. Their self-titled debut was released in 1968 and thus cemented the band’s place in rock history forever. Vinyl in EXCELLENT condition, previous owner has signed name on label, minimal background noise, MINIMAL superficial surface marks. I actually spent more than I wanted to for the Audio Technica but it came so highly recommended that I decided to splurge (and nothing cheaper appealed to me). I have the original Atlantic US release that I bought new when it was first released in 1969 (SD8216).
