About this deal

Because of the low position of the outlet in the pot, you get less coffee with this pot than with older Bialetti designs of similar size, and combined with the design features already mentioned I am finding my coffee quite _dis_-satisfying - not at all what I had in mind when buying a new pot! Timing: (Timing might take longer for the 4 cup Brikka.) With my 2 cup Brikka, on a preheated medium electric stove, the coffee starts quietly streaming into the upper chamber after aprox 4 minutes, then several seconds later the crema starts coming, and several seconds after that the crema is accelerating, so I take it off the stove before it gets loud, around 4-1/2 minutes; and I let it finish brewing on my countertop. It finishes brewing at around 5 minutes or a little before. See my attached video that shows when to remove it from the stove. My barista daughter recommends listening for the ripping/tearing sound and immediately taking it off the heat, so she sent me the attached video showing when she takes it off. It's sooo easy to clean with a soapy sponge but I usually just rinse it with water and it comes out spotless

This size of stovetop espresso maker definitely won’t fill a standard coffee mug by itself. As with a one-cup coffee pot, you can use your 2-cup Moka Pot to make yourself an Americano by adding hot water or sparkling water and ice for a refreshing sparkling Americano. If you want a 16-ounce Americano, this Moka Pot size is for you as you are not risking getting your coffee overly diluted. Heat your coffee - place it on a moderately hot stove, angling the handle away from heat if not an induction stove, and leaving the lid open. Coffee will start to bubble into the top section The right number of espresso cups: coffee can be enjoyed in espresso cups or in larger containers, Brikka is available in 2 sizes 2-cup 3,4 oz espresso and 4 cup 5,7 oz espresso I THINK the brew is a little less strong than aluminum. The filler basket may be just a tiny bit smaller. As others mentioned, on an electric stovetop it is a little slower to cook than the equivalent aluminum (on a gas stove I can't tell the difference)Its output is equivalent to almost a double shot of espresso, which is great for making concentrated shots of coffee for two people or making yourself an espresso-based drink that requires a double shot. Using a Bialetti Venus is the same as using a Bialetti Moka Express - this can be daunting to newcomers, but once you know the basics it's easy to produce a high-quality cup every time: As you wonder, “What size Moka Pot should I get?” defining your coffee brewing and drinking preferences is essential. While stovetop coffee makers are relatively inexpensive and you can always get a few different sizes to play with, doing your homework will save you from disappointment, especially if you are buying your first Moka Pot. Assess your coffee-drinking habits When choosing the best Moka Pot, remember that it produces the equivalent of concentrated coffee similar to espresso, not a standard watered-down brew. So Moka Pot cups imply demitasse cups (or half-size cups) that contain two to three ounces of coffee. Tips: I drink Latte/Cafe con Leche made with 5 oz of hot whole milk to 1 shot of Moka or Brikka coffee. I stir sweetener into my hot milk before I pour in the coffee so I won't kill the crema by stirring in sweetener later.

Made in Italy with an ergonomic handle and a patented safety valve which makes it easy to clean. Available in many sizes and suitable for gas, electric and induction (with the Bialetti induction adapter plate) Add the filter and coffee - insert the filter basket into the brewer, then fill the basket with coffeeHeat your coffee - place it on a moderately hot stove, angling the handle away from heat and leaving the lid open. Coffee will start to bubble into the top section I've been using the classic aluminum mokapots for 15 years and have mostly loved them. But they do get nasty after a while and they're hard to clean. (impossible to clean once you've melted the rubber gasket) So I tried a 6-cup stainless version and I like it a lot:

Stovetop espresso makers have the advantage of being low in waste as they don’t need paper filters. All you do is throw out the used coffee grounds, which can even be composted if you are up for it! You may wonder if buying a larger Moka Pot and loading it only partially to brew a smaller amount of coffee would work. Unfortunately, this isn’t recommended. Measuring the correct amounts of ground coffee and water with a Moka Pot is not as easy as with a drip coffee maker. For the best experience, you’ll want to fill the Moka Pot to the recommended line. On a side note the replacement filter screen that comes with the gaskets is a cheap aluminum facsimile of the original stainless steel one. AVOID THIS REPLACEMENT PRODUCT. It states it is made in Italy but looks Chinese. You will be disappointed. When prepared with a Moka Pot, coffee is more concentrated — more like a shot of espresso than a regular brew. So most people wouldn’t drink a whole mug due to the high caffeine content.

Using the Moka Pot coffee as a base, you can make cappuccinos, lattes, or flat whites at home. Use a battery-operated handheld or electric milk frother to achieve the airy texture of the milk before adding it to your cup with brewed coffee. You can also pour hot water into a single serving of brewed Moka coffee to make an Americano. If you want your Americano to be bigger than 12 ounces, you will probably want a larger Moka Pot to prevent the coffee from tasting too watery. It is worth mentioning that the exact volume of coffee that, for example, 3-cup Bialetti and 3-cup Grosche Milano Moka Pot can produce will vary slightly, so if you need precision, your best reference will be the user manual or a graded measuring cup. Using a Bialetti Moka Express can be daunting to newcomers, but once you know the basics it's easy to produce a high-quality cup every time: Moka Pot coffee contains around 168 milligrams of caffeine per 100 milliliters, with only espresso having higher caffeine content. Depending on the extraction, drip coffee has 37 to 79 milligrams of caffeine per 100 milliliters.
