What is Suella Braverman up to? Framing migrants as an existential threat to western civilisation, assailing multiculturalism, while talking darkly about the numbers of children had by foreign-born mothers; this week the home secretary was to be found delivering a speech to a rightwing US thinktank that sank to a bleak new low. Braverman has form when it comes to introducing extreme rightwing views into the mainstream, but this speech was especially egregious. It was riddled with the same tropes found in the “great replacement” – a far-right conspiracy theory that suggests Europeans are being replaced by outsiders with the complicity of elites. Yes. He was searching for the computer chip that transmitted his information to the government. During his search, he was apprehended by the police.”

The chemistry between the main characters started out as a tangible connection, most from his side, until it became forced as if the author was trying hard to make her characters feel the attraction. Being drawn to danger was a concept I was well versed in, but this didn't feel attraction or compulsion. That existed only in the author's mind, not in the written words. A pity.

I really enjoyed the writing in this story. The narration was a brilliant tone that created a chilling atmosphere. It's mood was perfect for the topics it dealt with. At times, the story could get confusing, but I learnt early that, that was the style of the flow and rhythm of the pace.

My patient is the Angel of Maine. He kills ruthlessly. Without mercy, though his moniker suggests otherwise. And there’s not a bone in my body that can find fault with his logic. All his victims were deserving of punishment. And I identify with him, because I’m glad they’re dead.” A criminal profiler and a sociopath serial killer? This is the type of psychological thriller dark romance my dreams are made of and no one does it quite like Trisha Wolfe. I mean, if you know, you know. And if you don't know, read Born, Darkly immediately. But I digress. Secondly, this book won’t be for everyone! It is HEAVILY based about philosophy and Greek mythology, it’s extremely thought provoking and some of the terminology is advanced so sometimes it was losing me a bit but it was so so interesting.spoke in so many riddles it made my head spin. He’s a character I’ve still not been able to fully figure out. 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐈 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞? 𝑳𝑴𝑨𝑶 𝑵𝒐𝒑𝒆. It’s very dark, it’s gruesome, it’s intense, it’s mysterious, it talks about rituals and ascension, the crimes are dark! it’s just SO many things it’s almost overkill? Like she was almost doing too much with this, so so psychological and philosophical but I was still drawn in! Also, the ending of the book felt very abrupt, and I hadn't even realized I had finished it when I did (I read it on my kindle). I believe there will be another book that will most likely expand on the characters (I mean they barely got anywhere with the case they were trying to solve), but I think I will pass on it. Dr. Noble. I’m sorry, but to me, and probably to everyone else in the courtroom, this looks like the violent, destructive crime of an enraged man. A man furious with his cheating wife.” He nods to the jury. “As we proved beforehand.”

USA Today bestselling romantic thriller author. From an early age, Trisha Wolfe dreamed up fictional worlds and characters and was accused of talking to herself. Today, she lives in South Carolina with her family and writes full time, using her fictional worlds as an excuse to continue talking to herself. There was so much that meets the eye when it came to these characters and knowing that there’s a darkness looming ahead, will make you literally eating out the palm of their hands in your quest to find answers. For fear of spoilers, I won’t be going into full details about Grayson Sullivan but what I will say is that some people are crazy with sociopath tendencies, and some are just certifiably insane and I have no clue what category Grayson falls in but I LOVED him! So on second thought, I think I will be needing that therapist after all. The pieces of the puzzle, the chemistry, the consequences, the unanswered questions have me moving onto book 2 ASAP! See what I mean?! He’s an obsessed man with serial killer tendencies who believes himself capable of being judge, jury and executioner. If that’s not madness, I don’t know what is. The only silver-lining is that he only goes after other people who have committed crimes (pretty evil crimes – at least that’s what I tell myself to help me sleep at night). So if you have a clean record, you’re in the clear. Just don’t go killing people or he and his hypocritical ideology may come looking for you.My only complaint is that it is a very slow slow slow build. For me it didn't feel like the good kind of build, but it definitely redeemed itself once everything started to happen. When the dominos fall, they fall hard, and the end result is exciting. I don't want to say much more, because I feel like it will ruin the read. I say go into this one blind just know it's more psychological than romance. It's dark and has dark themes and triggers, but to me it still felt more slow psychological thriller than anything else. If you have a hard time at the start, push through. It's so worth it.
