It’s a lot more important than in the case of a regular electric shaver since a session will usually take a much longer time.The other shaver in the all-in-one use category, the Remington PG6025, was a little more refined, but still looked and felt like something meant for your face, not for your body. In final, we wanted to test units across a representative sample of use cases. Many of these trimmers technically fit in the body hair trimming mold but also double as face shavers or trimmers. So if you’re considering a hybrid model, one may be a possibility — but be warned, said models may not be a good choice in the wrong place. How we tested The Braun – Cruzer Body Shaver was an interesting middle-case, in that it was the only model that actually functions as a face shaver as well as a trimmer given the attached razor. This combination made it worth considering for the user who doesn’t have a razor and also occasionally wants to trim other hair. For that, I actually timed my trimming and shaving sessions and kept a log in an Excel spreadsheet. Well, I’m glad to say that these problems are gone with the BG7030/BG7040. It is really smooth and efficient and it takes me less time to shave compared to using other body groomers.

The trimmer end of the tool also works perfectly well. We would have liked the option to trim to 1 or 2mm rather than starting all the way at 3mm, but still - along with the foil end it provides a good balance of trimming options. Likely using a similar battery technology, Philips’ Multigroom also performed solidly, but as we noted, that’s a unit that best fits your face, not your body.After rinsing, shake the excess water and pat the groomer dry with a towel. And that’s about it. Shaving performance At first, I was a bit reluctant at using it without a comb. If you’ve ever used a regular hair trimmer before for body grooming you know what I’m talking about. Most of the time though, the trimming and cutting will involve both the foil and one of the blades. You can even use up and down strokes over the same area, but the most efficient way is to lead with the lower blade. Another thing worth mentioning is that no matter what method of shaving you use, if a sensitive area that was recently shaved rubs against clothing you will get some irritation and discomfort.
