About this deal

After Yasmin’s father dies, she texts the lawyer who was going to help her with the divorce and tells him he’s no longer needed. She then discovers the forged will in her name, and she thinks about how Jeannie said that Julian was going to kill her. Yasmin Karam (23): Heiress to the Sultan Diamond Company and the only daughter of Ali Karam! She's a people pleaser and never does anything to disappoint her father! My Greatest Failure: During his final days, Ali confesses to Yasmin that his biggest regret in his life is not being there for her more as a father despite everything he provided her growing up. she has no accomplishments, no intelligent, no social skills, no talent (except for photography which served nothing in the story)

I found the writing to be very “tell not show” at times and also corny at times. Alll the secondary characters were two dimensional to me. And the plot had a ton of holes in it like I don’t have answers still about a couple of things.

up until p: 260 he was saying how he didn't care about Her and how this marriage was fake and how he would kill her to get her father's fortune and then BAAAMMM he's in love!!! This was great. I think Twisted has the best/strongest storyline of all the Never After books in that it's the most interesting and well done, particularly in how it weaves a brand new contemporary plot with the original core aspects of the Aladdin tale. It's also definitely the most slow burn romance of the Never After books, but it works perfectly in this enemies-to-lovers retelling of Aladdin where Jasmine (Yasmin) ends up with Jafar (Julian) because the build up is worth the explosiveness of their relationship. It also has Yasmin and Jafar entering into a fake marriage so her father stops trying to arrange a husband for her, so if you like that trope then you'll love this. Its just so well done here, and honestly of all the fake marriage or marriage of convenience books I've read this might be my favorite. It felt real and authentic, probably because of the slow burn. I read the three before and though I hated Hooked (not because the book itself was bad but because of how doormat Wendy was) but loved Scarred and Wretched for the reason that made me hate Hooked - they had badass female leads I appreciate, however, that there was no grooming on MMC's part. Taboo doesn't scare me off, but it wouldn't have matched Julian's character at all. I think one of my biggest issues with this book are the two main characters who I didn’t find to be redeemable or likable (I’m so sorry!). Evie is like…a really bad person. Like probably the worst lead I’ve read in a romance? And then I question myself, “oh well is this internalized misogyny like if a dude was doing the things she was doing would I be okay with that?” And honestly, no! I don’t want to say what she does because it’s a spoiler (you find out like 20% in I think) but I was like “please no”. And by the end of the book I don’t think she answered for her misdoings at all.

You know,” she starts. “I’ve always wondered what it would feel like to cut off a man’s testicles.” Also the angst in this book had me dying!! Istg my heart was aching so badly throughout most of the book. It was just so intense, I almost couldn’t handle it!!!But Nicholas Woodsworth’s real secret is much more dangerous than an alias. He’s an undercover DEA agent, and he’s hell-bent on destroying the drug trade that devastated his family. I was in a huge slump this week and tried so many books to read and ended up finding more until this book. This book got me hooked from the very first chapter and idk what kind of drugs or spell did ms Emily put but it really did for me. I totally get why this is everyone’s favourite in the series but I got to be honest and say that Scarred still is and will probably always be my favourite but this is a close second!

Yasmin is a brat who speaks out of turn, and he’s the villain of her story. But he decides she’ll be his―no matter what it takes to convince her. Other than that, I really enjoyed this fourth installment in the series. Twisted was dark, sultry, sexy, and such an addicting read. Julian forever lives in my head rent free from here on out. Bless Emily for writing a man who definitely knew what to say in the bedroom. This Book was too good! It's an Aladdin retelling! It's a mixture of so many tropes 😭 Forced marriage, enemies to lovers, age gap & touch her you die! 🥺 Prince Tristan Faasa was never destined for the throne. That was always his brother, Michael. The same brother responsible for both Tristan’s tormented childhood and the scar that mars his face.

A dark contemporary fractured fairy tale reimagining of Aladdin by BookTok sensation Emily McIntire Yasmin is a brat who speaks out of turn, and he's the villain of her story. But he decides she'll be his―no matter what it takes to convince her. And you know how we all say i love me some badass boss b*tch moment from our 𝐅𝐌𝐂 well 𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋 𝐁𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐒𝐒 𝐁𝐎𝐒𝐒 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐄𝐍 in this story. And while reading about her place in their organization and her relationship with her father, i remembered a quote i read at some point somewhere about Ares and Athena. Eveline is 100% unapologetic about who she is and what she's capable of and if that makes her the vilain, Well I'm team Bad Witch Always and Forever.
