About this deal

Our tanking slurry is available in two colours, white and grey. As a general guide, use one colour for the first coat then the other for the second coat which makes it easier to see if you have completely covered the surface. Plastering over tanking slurry It can be applied either to the negative or the positive side and will negate dampness in ground water permeation even under hydrostatic pressure. Wear protective overalls and a mask as the chemical compounds in cementitious slurry can be harmful to eyes and skin. When the first coat is dry to the touch, apply a second coat, this time in vertical brush strokes. Always apply the second coat within 24 hours.

Note:all tanking products are prone to sweating during the drying out phase and if left exposed after the product has cured. We suggest they are always covered as above and/or adequate ventilation is installed to manage the humidity. PermaSEAL - Complete Solutions. Made Possible. The freshly treated surfaces should be protected from rain for a minimum period of 24 hours. Surfaces treated with Vandex BB75 should be protected from frost for at least 5 days. If necessary, cover them with insulation mats. However, walls below ground are often subject to hydrostatic water pressure and any flaw in the application of cementitious tanking can have serious consequences. Type C cavity drainage systems should be a consideration. Note:all tanking products are prone to sweating during the drying out phase and if left exposed after the product has cured. We suggest they are always covered as above and / or adequate ventilation is installed to manage the humidity.Tanking slurry can be used on a damp wall above ground to stop the passage of water. Ideally, you will want to identify and resolve the source of damp before applying it. At Permagard, our PermaSEAL tanking membranes and slurry products are seen as industry leading by DIYers and tradespeople alike. We offer these products in either bulk or smaller quantities so no matter the size of the job, you’ll find what you need. Tanking membranes also known as damp proof membranes are sheets of specially designed plastic material that act as a waterproof barrier to protect walls and floors from water ingress. Made from high quality HDPE, they are designed to withstand years of temperature fluctuation and exposure to water without becoming worn or degraded. Tanking membranes are easy to install onto damp walls, creating a small cavity to allow the wall to dry out. Vandex BB White is a version of Vandex BB75 based on white Portland cement. Its characteristic white colour makes it particularly suitable for use on exposed surfaces, e.g. potable water reservoirs. Vandex BB75 Z

Multicrete Tanking Slurry is to be mixed and used within 30 minutes @ 20˚C so any excess that is mixed and not used within the allotted time will be wasted. The mix ratio that is recommended is approx 5.5-6 litres of fresh clean water per 25kg. Vandex BB75 is not intended to provide a decorative finish. In most cases, the Vandex BB75 waterproofing layer is covered with a suitable plaster such as Vandex Refurbishment Plaster. Vandex BB White When it comes to below ground, it often pays to stop the water before it enters the building. Cementitious tanking slurries are a very successful way to achieve this and effectively tank a basement. Not every waterproofing situation below ground requires a cavity drain membrane. Many european countries do not use cavity drain membranes and rely on cementitious systems. In addition, PermaSEAL Tanking Slurrycontains an acrylic polymer that imparts improved strength, bonding and abrasion resistance. After hardening, PermaSEAL tanking becomes a vapour permeable and watertight coating capable of withstanding water pressure. Tanking Slurry Uses For maximum effectiveness, it is essential that the applied layers of Vandex BB75 are kept damp for at least 5 days and protected against evaporation by sun and wind. Careful post-watering should be carried out at intervals, starting from the day following the application. Alternatively, the surfaces can be covered with plastic sheeting, wet mats or moist sand. The use of curing compounds is not recommended.

Properties in areas with a high water table, at flooding risk or on lower ground with little natural drainage could be at higher risk. They therefore require a more robust barrier to deal with any water ingress. Walls above ground level do not experience hydrostatic pressure that leaves tanking slurry as a good option. Next generation wall tanking products from Permagard Vandex BB75 Z is formulated to have enhanced sulphate resistance, making it suitable for use in sewage treatment plants and sewer / manhole refurbishment projects. Vandex BB75 / BB White / BB75 Z Application Preparation Retaining Walls and columns in reservoirs • Swimming Pools prior to tiling or painting • Concrete drinking water tanks • Water Treatment and sewerage plants • Foundation Slabs • Underground Cellars, basement car parks, garages, etc. • Pre-stressed and pre-cast concrete units • Tunnels, silos, irrigation channels • Bathrooms, kitchens, etc • Lift Shafts • Vehicle maintenance pits
