In 1867, Evan Jones' son, John B. Jones, moved the school to Talequah in the Cherokee Nation. In 1885, the mission school moved to Muskogee, Creek Nation, and changed its name to Bacone, after its first teacher. [3] By 2020, efforts to cut costs and refocus the school on its Native American students had allowed it to gain ground and bring the CFI to a reading of 1.8, still below the threshold for financial stress, but three times better than it had been. The Bacone athletic teams are called the Warriors. The university is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), primarily competing as an NAIA Independent within the Continental Athletic Conference since the 2019–20 academic year. The Warriors previously competed in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) from 2015–16 to 2018–19; and in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) from 1998–99 to 2014–15. The Bacone football team competed in the Central States Football League (CSFL) until the sport was discontinued after the 2018 fall season (2018–19 academic year). Pratt said the appointment was especially important given Bacone’s attempt to recenter Native Americans in its overall mission, and its history as a Native American-focused school started by a white Baptist missionary.

There's a few starters, a medium-sized list of pasta dishes including some Roman classics ( eg cacio e pepe) and some with a more unusual twist. Then there's a handful of desserts. Thats it. No regular (non pasta ) meat or fish mains. No soups, salads or zucchini fritti. From our experience today I'd put the pasta plates here about half way between a starter size and a main size. In other words there may be some people who think after a starter and a pasta dish, that they need another. Doesn't matter really- it won't cost much and it'll be along presently- and frankly its just as likely that you'll just fancy another or a share of another because you enjoyed the first one and you're downright curious about something else on the list.
