I’ve always loved films and about 13 years ago I set out to make some of my own. To do that I knew I needed scripts but as I didn’t know any screenwriters at the time I wrote them myself. Over time I found that I enjoyed the writing more than the filmmaking and eventually I stopped directing films altogether. I also realized that I preferred to write shorter stories, which led me to picture books about 4 years ago. They were totally and almost suddenly wiped out from the earth about 65 million years ago, towards the end of the Mesozoic era. A number of reasons like change of vegetation, advent of small mammals etc. were given as causes for their extinction. The most plausible reason, appears to be that of cosmic impact as evidenced by a thin sediment layer with enrichment of Iridium of the end of the Cretoceous. A writing shed sounds great to me too although I would probably get distractedif it contained an overflowing bookcase!!

Visitors can learn about the animals that were around at the time of the dinosaurs and are still here today and discover the passion and dedication of the fossil hunters in this fun, family-friendly exhibition.

Det her er faktisk en fagbog, men det er uden tvivl en af de smukkeste fagbøger jeg har set. Som titlen og bagsideteksten siger, så handler denne bog om dinosaurer - små og store. Hver eneste side er trykt i et tykt grynet papir og farvelagt med de helt perfekte farver. Noget der giver et look med ægte forhistoriske vibes og virkelig skaber en rigtig arkæologisk stemning. Dinosaurerne er både afbilledet som vi kender dem fra Jurassic Park, men så er der også dem, der er afbilledet lidt anderledes - altså gjort mindre hollywood og meget mere realistiske.

The Allen Gallery and Curtis Museum are operated by Hampshire Cultural Trust, an independent charity set up in 2014 to promote Hampshire as a county that offers outstanding cultural experiences to both its residents and visitors. Will you be promoting your book in schools or at other events?

The Story: When Danny’s mum says that he can have a pet he decides he would like a dinosaur. At The Wondrous Dinosaurium he chooses a Diplodocus but soon discovers that the dinosaur isn’t right for him. Chaos ensues as Danny tries several other dinosaurs and becomes more and more discouraged. Will he ever find the perfect dinosaur pet?
