About this deal

It is necessary to know that you must buy Discovery Pass that allows you to enter the national parks in Canada and enjoy all the beauty. So yes, all four major national parks - Banff, Jasper, Yoho and Kootenay are included in the Discovery Pass.

Lake O’Hara is an alpine lake, and is one of the main sights in Yoho National Park. It’s definitely worth the long journey it takes to get there. Later, you can cruise through the nearby glaciers using an ice explorer vehicle and experience the thrill of your lifetime. Athabasca Glacier After your busy, busy day in the northern part of Banff, there’s nothing better than sitting down for a big, warm dinner. Bill Peyto’s Cafe is an affordable and popular choice in the Lake Louise area for exactly that. Durable camping gear – If you’re planning on camping, you’ll definitely want some high-quality camping gear to bring with you.

Yoho National Park is often overlooked, but there's no reason for it, and sometimes we wonder why other places get such a reputation while another little gem is nearby, patiently waiting to be noticed. After your dinner, if you’re still a liiiiittle hungry, stop by Beaver Tails nearby for an amazing Canadian dessert: baked (fried?) dough topped with delicious sweet condiments like Nutella, M&Ms, cinnamon, and more.

Travel past monumental glaciers, icy blue lakes, enormous mountains and stretches of road that simply have to be seen to be believed. There are plenty of stops along the Icefields Parkway hence I believe you should spend at least a couple of days exploring it. Lunch at Num-Ti-Jah Lodge: The restaurant is located inside the Num-Ti-Jah Lodge and can be considered pricey. If you have two to three weeks, you can create a perfect loop itinerary and incorporate in your plans several rewarding day-hikes. You should get there when the sky is still a deep navy blue, but just bundle up and wait for the sunrise. If it’s clear enough outside, you should start to see the faint hues of pink and red slowly start to paint the mountain face (like the photo I took a few years ago below). The parking lot for Moraine Lake is pretty small, which is why I’m recommending getting up so early. When Rafael and I went there for the first time, we arrived around 6 AM and, while we weren’t the only people there, we had the place largely to ourselves.I like staying at Alpine Village Cabin Resort because you have the best of both worlds — you’re only 2 km (1.2 miles) from central Jasper, but can enjoy the classic ‘cabin-in-the-woods’ experience. The stone and pine log cabins, each featuring a private terrace, are set among the trees close to the river and can sleep up to five guests. Icefields Parkway Road from Jasper to Banff, Icefields Parkway The good news is that with the car horizons open, and you can fit most of the places in your itinerary if you have at least two weeks. BANFF NATIONAL PARK After that, you can head over to Ha Ling Peak for the grueling thigh-burning hike. Or, you can enjoy the rest of your day relaxing at the famous Grizzling House Fondue. The bottom line is that it is not humanly possible to visit every single beautiful lake mentioned in a travel guidebook, so always take your time and prioritize.

Take pictures at Bow Lake: Bow Lake is located right next to Icefields Parkway, so it is pretty easy to stop and take pictures. One would say that a traveler can get immune to seeing the combination of lakes, mountains, rivers, and forests repeatedly, but we could not disagree more. Calgary. This account shows a westbound journey, note that the departure times have changed slightly sinceMaligne Canyon:(Easy, 3.9 kilometers) An easy, short hike, Maligne Canyon brings you through a striking canyon, passing by ranging rivers and breathtaking waterfalls in the process. Perfect for families or beginner hikers wanting to see some of the most awesome views in the park! Hike Parker Ridge Trail: This trail is a must. The views are out of this world! It is a 2.7 km trail with an elevation gain of 250. This dramatic lake is home to a towering mountain peak, a beautiful blue lake, evergreen forests, and a large wooden lodge. The weather in the mountains is always unpredictable and can change within a second. On the other hand, there are seasons and patterns that travelers can take into account.
