The OXSIGHT software, developed originally in Oxford University, features a range of modes that can help with edge, object, text and facial recognition. We are proud to be OrCam's longest standing approved provider here in the UK. We provide specialist VisionAid 1-to-1 training which is included in the price. We also offer ongoing support from here at VisionAid HQ. Your device will now connect to the WiFi, and will reconnect automatically every time you connect your device to the wall charger, provided it is within range of the WiFi network. Connecting to WiFi is not necessary to operate the device. The only reason to connect your device to WiFi is to ensure you have the latest software updates.

OrCam Read works on both printed and on-screen text (e.g. PC or laptop screen, iPad, mobile phone screen etc.)

OrCam Read Smart is a personal reading device for anyone who is consistently exposed to large amounts of text – at work and school, or for leisure – and assists people who have low vision or reading difficulties, including dyslexia and reading fatigue. Anywhere! It’s a reading pen that does not require an internet connection, so you can read offline at home, work, school, running errands or wherever the day takes you. You can connect Bluetooth headphones or simply use the device’s built-in speaker for your audio. It reads any printed or digital text (such as text on a smartphone). AdaptiVision is a small, family-run business committed to providing personalized service with every sale. If you have sight conditions such as macular degeneration (AMD), Stargardt's, albinism or diabetic retinopathy and/or if you benefit from magnification tools in general, you could see an impact on your vision with the device. Currently the device doesn’t let you know which mode it is in. However, I believe this is due to be a feature in a future update. The reason behind this is due to this specific device supporting a range of disabilities. You recieve an alert if there is not enough light to process text, meaning it could be difficult in low-light situations. Again, the product does have an LED light so this should be enabled in later updated.
