Finally, the collapsing mechanism has one serious side effect for anyone wanting to use this lens with a teleconverter: you can't. The RF 70-200mm f/2.8 is incompatible with the Extender RF 1.4x and Extender RF 2x, as the compact lens design cannot physically accommodate the protruding elements of the two converters.
