About this deal

So I'm finally using my three-dimensional gear to jump on this bandwagon, at long last, and what a wild ride it is! The series has been immensely popular, both in Japan and internationally. It became one of the best and most well-known manga series of all time with sales of over 100 million copies. Junior High ran in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from April 2012-July 2016. The series has 79 chapters as well as various special edition chapters. In Japan, these chapters were collected in eleven volumes and five in America. The symbolic aspect of this shouldn´t be underestimated, let´s say Japanese and general East Asian isolationism during the last centuries. And in most of these cases, the monsters won because of technological and military superiority. Without the specific Asian focus, it could also be seen as a general metaphor, allegory, or just freaking deep message about xenophobia, building walls, and fearing everything foreign. I havent had a manga hold my attention for a while to such an extent (apart from usual obsession of those I keep up with xD)

On that day, mankind received a grim reminder. We lived in fear of the Titans and were disgraced to live in these cages we called walls.” Eren and his friends confront Reiner and defeat him using a new weapon, the "Thunder Spear", designed specifically to penetrate his Titan's armor. With his friend in trouble, Bertolt joins the battle and transforms into the Colossus Titan, eliminating a large number of the Survey Corps in the process. People have known for more than a hundred years that the titans are out there, but they have buried their own heads in the sand, barricaded themselves behind high walls. Out of sight, out of mind. Now those walls are crumbling, and the threat can no longer be ignored! Thankfully, our young heroes finally take action - and as it turns out, countless young readers around the world can relate to the desire to restore human dignity and, yes, save the world: "Finally we can be useful," as Krista puts it just before the battle starts. The United States branch of Kodansha, Kodansha USA, began releasing English volumes of the series just a few months after the Japanese volumes were released. Parody Spin-Off Manga SeriesThis is one of the best beginnings I've ever read. Chilling, strong, and already setting a place for much bigger things to come.

reading: You know what, I liked this a little bit more after reading it again. It's possible that the crap I read before this made this seem better overall ... but, meh. Not bad. After being put through years of brutal military training, Eren and his friends are prepared to lay their lives on the line to exterminate every last titan in the world and bring freedom to humanity once more. But Eren doesn’t yet realize that he isn’t prepared for the many horrors that lie beyond the walls he grew up in. There’s more than just titans out there that want him and his friends dead. Maybe there isn't all that much actual fighting just yet but the setting and drama of the whole situation are powerful and very necessary. I loved it. Especially because it's teased at the beginning and it delivered way better than I could have hoped for. Tropes show how literature is conceptualized and created and which mixture of elements makes works and genres unique: Eren Yeager and his family have lived on the interior side of the wall for all their life, they have no clue as to what the outside world looks like. The outside world, is inhabited by a colossal group of Titans who intend to bring mankind into extinction! The 50 metres tall wall which has kept the people safe for so long is now no longer reliable…The titans have found a way to storm in and devour human beings that get in their way with the most satisfying crunch (the snapping of bones mhm). Okay I’ll stop before this review gets any weirder!A good person? Well… I don’t really like that term. Because to me, it just seems to mean someone who’s good for you. And I don’t think there’s any one person who’s good for everyone." --Armin Arlert” Circumstances like this one are going to create intense emotions, there's no way around it, and the start of these characters' emotional journeys breaks my heart and makes me really, really curious over it all.

During the United States’ occupation of Japan post-World War II, a mix of US media styles combined with traditional Japanese art spawned a creative explosion in manga that continues to date. The Survey Corps confront Kenny's forces to rescue Eren and Historia, while Rod attempts to convince his daughter to transform into a Titan herself and absorb Eren's powers by eating him. Since only those with royal blood can use the Founding Titan's Coordinate, it is useless as long as Eren has it, but Rod claims Historia could use it to control the Titans. Despite Eren's willingness to sacrifice himself in atonement for her family's death at his father's hands, Historia realizes that no royal has ever put a stop to the threat of Titans before, leading her to doubt Rod's story. Rod admits the royal family is bound by a vow of peace their first king had made, which restricts them from putting an end to the Titans. Historia refuses to become a Titan and Rod decides to do it in her place. However, Rod's new Titan form grows to a massive size, larger than the Colossus Titan itself, and in a desperate move to save his friends from being crushed by the collapsing cave, Eren consumes a vial of Titan fluid that allows him to harden his Titan form.I gotta say that the action and gruesomeness from the beginning really captured my attention, they're great and very dramatic!
