About this deal

This is a historical activity for your class to complete, gaining insight to what was going on at the time in which the story was set. When the boys are teenagers, the county is at war. They join the army to serve their King and country. They travel to the front lines to fight and are faced with the dangers of the battlefield and the terrible conditions in the trenches. Can their friendship help them through and will they ever return home to their families? Two of the men, Private W Lodge and Gunner Ernest Price are mentioned on the Thurstonland memorial, but there is no mention of Private G Shaw, who apparently died at home two weeks before the end of the conflict. In late 1914, the fields of Northern France and Flanders were once again ripped open as World War One raged through Europe's heart. Once the conflict was over the poppy was one of the only plants to grow on the otherwise barren battlefields. urn:lcp:wherepoppiesnowg0000robi:epub:3b98351c-873d-43f9-8977-b91abce1f268 Foldoutcount 0 Identifier wherepoppiesnowg0000robi Identifier-ark ark:/13960/t3vv0sj15 Invoice 1652 Isbn 9780957124592
