Description

All stripping requires some work. I would suggest letting the models soak for a few hours, doing an initial tooth brush to loosen things, then a further soak to finish it off Coatings removed include: Water based coatings, Varnishes, Primers (including aerospace), Primers containing chrome, Oil based paints and Emulsion. Note: The product may cause any dye on the paintbrush bristles to lift. Not suitable for natural hair paintbrushes. Place used brushes into a clean, empty container. Then just put the model in and submerge it for at least 20 minutes. I’ve found that 40 minutes is the sweet spot for the first pass. This allows the IPA to penetrate deep into the paint and eat away at it. Doesn't mean to say I was being silly with it, just that myself and the cats, didn't have to deal with the 'headache' smell, that other stuff gives off.

To keep uPVC surfaces, such as windows, doors, sills, garden furniture etc looking clean it is important to carry out routine housekeeping on these items. Can I leave miniatures to soak over night? Shorter soaks are recommended but overnight is generally fine. We have reports of models being left for over a week with no significant damage. I've found 70% IPA doesn't shift paint that well, though it does weaken it. 99% is much better, so go with that one. Proven very effective for cleaning and restoring model characters such as Warhammer or other miniatures Wash area thoroughly with clean soapy water. Ensure area is completely clean and dry before repaintingIf you have an ultrasonic cleaner you can use this (filled with water!) as clean up stage. I wouldn't use alcohol with a cleaner as it might heat the alcohol and will vaporise some of it. It's helpful, but not required.

Now just repeat the steps for a second round, pull out a mini that’s been soaking in IPA. load your brush with IPA and scrub. At this point, I normally find that some pipe cleaners do a better job of getting into those tight spots.
