Antacids may increase the pH of the urine and affect the rate of drug elimination. Excretion of basic drugs is decreased whereas acidic drugs are eliminated more rapidly. Peptac liquid contains three active ingredients: sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate and calcium carbonate. Peptac liquid should preferably not be taken at the same time of day as any other medicines. In general, any interactions can be avoided if you don't take Peptac liquid in the two hours before and after taking any other medicine. Sodium: This medicinal product contains 57.85 mg sodium per 5 ml, equivalent to 2.9 % of the WHO recommended maximum daily intake for sodium. The maximum daily dose of this product is equivalent to 23.14 % of the WHO recommended maximum daily intake for sodium. Peptac is suitable for adults and children aged 6 years and above, it, however, is not suitable for patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients in the medication. Peptac Liquid is a widely used and effective heartburn and indigestion medication however every patient can respond differently to medication.
