About this deal

It may be caused simply by being in the sun ( in which case move it to the shade), or being on or near other heat generating equipment (in which case move it !), I solved it temporarily by putting a drinks coaster under one side, to tilt it and aid ventilation. By using a Sky Wireless Connector, you can enjoy seamless and convenient access to on-demand content, including catch-up TV, movies, and sports programming. It also allows you to remotely control your Sky box through the Sky Go app, providing flexibility and convenience for managing your entertainment setup. The Catch Up TV options are very extensive and a wide range of channels are offered. The Box Sets are also of interest and all of these are free of charge. When you set up the Sky Wireless Connector, you will need to follow a simple installation process. This typically involves plugging the device into your Sky box’s Ethernet port and connecting it to a power source. Once powered on, the device will automatically search for available Wi-Fi networks, allowing you to select and connect to your home network.

Easy Setup: Setting up a Sky Wireless Connector is a breeze. It doesn’t require any complex installation or technical expertise. Simply connect the device to your Sky box, follow the easy-to-understand instructions, and you’ll be up and running in no time. This simplicity makes it a convenient choice for users of all skill levels. A 50cm USB cable (with standard USB2 connector on one end for connection to the Sky+HD box and a micro USB connector on the other end for connection to the SD501). Alternatively, if your WiFi has a WPS button, but your Sky box doesn’t, you can connect via another means.

The advantage - no cables to run. Disadvantage - Expensive, prone to interference (wifi, microwave, etc), range may be an issue meaning no/poor picture. I've even had the issue where next door could control my box as although most senders have diffferent "channels" to avoid clashes with neihbours/interference on the video, most don't have 'channels' for the IR sender part (some do though) Video sender. This is a wireless device that "sends" the picture and sound from the main box wirelessly to a receiver on the bedroom TV. Most have IR remote control extenders so you can control the sky box from the bedroom. Some work on 2.4GHz, the same frequency as wifi, some on 5GHz.

I'm so pleased you've brought this subject up as I've been having the very same issue. I'm very disappointed with the wireless connector. I had my box connected through an ethernet cable until it was damaged, and opted for the wireless connector to save me having a cable trailing along the hallway. I sometimes wish I'd saved myself the money and hassle and just bought another cheap cable.Yes, you can use a Sky Wireless Connector with any Sky box that has an Ethernet port. This includes Sky+ HD boxes, Sky Q boxes, and older Sky HD boxes. However, it’s worth noting that some older models may require an additional adapter to support wireless connectivity. Before purchasing a Sky Wireless Connector, make sure that your Sky box is compatible and has the necessary ports. For a cost, there is an extensive range of films offered, significantly more than the limited options (Anytime) that are offered without the On Demand Connector. An SD501 MINI On Demand Connector connects to the USB port of later DRX890 and DRX895 model Sky+HD boxes.
