About this deal

One of the SNOObear’s most clever features is that it automatically comes on if your child starts crying or there’s noise nearby. I found this to be very effective at helping my baby to resettle, especially during the day. Rather than playing artificial white noise, the Prince Lionheart Slumber Bear plays real sounds recorded from a mother’s womb shortly before giving birth. In theory, it’s the exact sound your newborn baby will be used to hearing, and therefore the sound that should help to soothe them most effectively.

Each sound is accompanied by a real recording of a resting heartbeat, which can be comforting to a small baby What’s special about the Whisbear is that it’s not just a sleep aid. To encourage sensory and fine motor development, it features rustling elements in the ears and paws, and is made from different textures of fabrics in contrasting colours. This makes it perfect for your little one to play with before they drift off. Although it might also be a distraction to them in the middle of the night, so you can choose whether or not to put it in the cot with your baby! The buttons on the Dreamegg D11 are very easy to use. They are large enough to be easy to find in the dark, clearly labeled, and you don’t need to read the instructions to work out how to operate it. The compact D11 has a clearer speaker and louder volume than its small size would suggest – perfect for masking disruptive external noises. Pink noise is white noise with the higher frequency sounds turned down. It’s thought to be less harsh, more natural: similar to steady rain or wind rustling through trees. Sounds that otherwise keep you awake, like neighbours talking, car doors slamming or partners snoring, may sound softer and less disturbing through pink noise. What is brown noise? The Dreamegg D11 white noise machine is one to seriously consider – especially if you travel a lot and are looking for a compact option. The contemporary design is a nice alternative to the more cutesy versions available, and the rechargeable battery can be topped up with a standard USB cable. Note: If you're buying for a child, the American Academy of Pediatrics warns parents to keep sound machines to around 50 decibels and farther than 200 centimeters (6.5 feet) from where your baby sleeps.

It also has a mode called ‘breathing’ which basically cycles from dim to bright repeatedly. It’s a great idea, but I didn’t find it was as good as a constant brightness. It does a little jump when it reaches the lowest brightness, which makes it less subtle than I would have liked. The battery lasts all night, so this is a very convenient feature that sets it apart from many other sound machines. Good nightlight While it can mitigate some external noise, its maximum volume and speaker quality can’t compete with the likes of the LectroFan Evo, Dreamegg D3 Pro, Snooz, or Dreamcenter. The unconventional fair sound and vacuum noise probably wouldn’t be an adult’s first choice for relaxation, but may work well to comfort some children. When you become a parent, you soon learn that, unfortunately, not all babies actually sleep ‘like a baby.’ Even once you've spent time and money choosing the best crib and making sure it's comfy, helping your baby learn to sleep well can be one of the biggest struggles for new parents, and it’s an issue that can linger through their toddler years and beyond. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items.
