About this deal

So I must apologize ahead of time, even though I planned on making this post I completely forgot to take any pictures, but without further ado let's get on with the "review."

Kailh Box Jade: The Ultimate Guide - Good Keyboard Kailh Box Jade: The Ultimate Guide - Good Keyboard

Additionally, the Corsair STRAFE RGB MK2 is fully programmable so you can create your own custom macros or key bindings. They can be difficult to clean, since the dirt and dust can get caught in the small gaps between the switch housing and the keycap. Top 5 Keyboards with Kailh Box Jade Switches My best explanation for how I forgot to mention the weight of the Box Jades until now is that it is something I never needed to adapt to. With some of the other switches I could feel their heaviness and needed to adapt a little to it, but I cannot recall needing to do so for these. I quite possibly still did, but also found them comfortable to type on from the beginning and am interested in tactile switches that may offer sharp tactility as well. The Kailh Red is not as good as either the Cherry MX or Gateron with a slightly scratchy feel. The Kailh Box Red is a smoother switch. Plus, they are quiet enough that I can type without disturbing others. Overall, I would highly recommend Kailh Box Jade switches to anyone looking for an amazing typing experience! Gaming experienceSimilar in feel to the Box Brown. They do not feature the box design so there is a slight bit of keycap wobble. I built in my Kona Classic that I got from a group buy earlier in the year. This board is designed by u/AuthenticDanger and was really fun to build and has tons of layout options which I was keen on at the time. For the statistics, without amplification and using the recording microphone my voice peaked at -10.508 dB while my typing peaked at -36.793 dB, without RNNoise enabled. With RNNoise enabled the peak was -16.356 dB and the typing was -36.793 dB. With the contrast tool, without RNNoise enabled my voice was at -36.85 RMS dB and my typing at -53.07 RMS dB for a difference of 16.22 RMS dB. With RNNoise enabled, my voice was at -42.92 RMS dB, my typing at -78.58 RMS dB, for a difference of 35.65 RMS dB, which is huge. Decibels are a logarithmic unit, not a linear one, so the actual difference here is far more than half.

Kailh has many different switch lines, but their Box Jade switches are some of the most popular. These switches have a nice, tactile feel that makes them great for gaming and typing. They also come in several different colors, making them a popular choice for custom builds. Advantages and Disadvantages Activation Force - measured in grams (g) and represents the force that needs to be applied to activate the switch. A lower number gives the keyboard a lighter feel; however, you may find that these switches are activated too easily. The higher the number the harder the keys will feel. A gamer or typist prefers a balance as too high an activation force can result in finger fatigue over time. I think I finally came across a switch with silly amounts of tactility AND a good reset speed... the NK Blueberry review will be coming... Before wrapping this up I want to talk about the stem and housing wobble, though there is none in the latter case. Of the three spare Box Jades I have, none of them exhibit any wobble between the top and bottom housing. By the way, the means by which the top and bottom housing snap together is also different between at least some Kailh switches and the traditional Cherry design. The Kailh Box Brown is a fantastic tactile switch. It has a firmer tactile bump than the Gateron Brown and is smoother than either the Gateron or Cherry MX Brown.Gaming - If you are predominantly using the keyboard for gaming, I would recommend a linear key switch. They offer a smooth keystroke and are silent. Most gaming keyboards include a Red key switch. For the Arctis 7 headset recording, my voice clipped and so it went to 0 dB while the typing peaked at -17.944 dB. This difference in peaks is not too far from that with the recording mic, but the contrast results are quite different. While my voice was at -23.19 RMS dB, my typing was at -50.38 RMS dB, producing a difference of 27.19 RMS dB. Undoubtedly the headset mic's proximity to my mouth helps it here. When it comes to gaming keyboards, there are a few different switch types that are popular among gamers. Kailh Box Jade Switches and Cherry MX Blues are two of the most common. Both switches have their pros and cons, so it can be tough to decide which one is right for you. Kailh Box Jade switches are mechanical keyboard switches, similar to Cherry MX switches. They are manufactured by Kailh, a subsidiary of Razer.

I like the switches, even if they make my hands tired after any heavy use. They are extremely tactile and are fun to type on. I am definitely keeping these on my Kona as my daily driver (and if you all like this post maybe I'll make another about my long term impression of the switch after I've had more time with it).

Introduction:

Ever since Cherry's patents on the MX switches expired in 2014, the market has been flooded with inexpensive clones of their key switches. Many of these are of poor quality; however, a few companies such as Gateron and Kailh have grown to offer switches that match and in many cases better the Cherry equivalents.

Kailh box whites (esp compared to jades?) - Reddit How are Kailh box whites (esp compared to jades?) - Reddit

I would wholeheartedly like to see a Box Royal with a heavier spring, maybe somewhere in-between 60-70g or so to make that switch truly shine, maybe call it a Box Duke or something. I would also love to see a middle ground spring weight between the Jade and the Navy while keeping the rest of the switch the same to have the best of both worlds, maybe call it a Box Ruby. Tactility: 1/6 (again this one is tough since the tactility between this and the Jade/Navy feel different) Linear key switches are popular for gaming, where the smooth travel of the keys minimises any finger fatigue due to fast and intensive key presses. Key Switch Coil Spring - The coil spring provides the resistance you feel when you depress the key. Each switch type uses a different rated spring. You can see the effect of the spring when looking at the activation force value for each switch. If you’re looking for a gaming keyboard that offers the best possible experience, Kailh Box Jade Switches are the way to go.
