About this deal

Don’t worry so much about the emphasis suggested by the chart at 20hz, you’re not going to hear a difference if you don’t boost that, just increased noise… maybe. While it won’t knock your socks off, the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO blocks outside noise from reaching your ear fairly well, though it’s mostly sound that’s higher-pitched than middle-C. If you’re looking for a cheaper set of cans, you could always look to grab one of the even-older Sony MDR-7506. The DT 770 PRO headphones is the range’s closed-back model and offers maximum flexibility and detailed sound that you can rely on.

You may notice right away that this headset uses velour padding, which is exactly the sort of thing that those with glasses prefer to leatherette ear pads because it doesn’t squeak or catch when you move your head. Bought them from Guitar Center and the receipt says they're new, so I guess I'll have to trust that. From our portfolio, the DT 770 M, the DT 770 PRO, the DT 700 PRO X and the DT 1770 PRO are suitable. Soft earpads and adjustable, sliding earpieces, together with a single-sided connecting cable, ensure listening comfort during extended periods of use. For mixing and mastering in the studio, open headphones are often used because of the better spatial representation. You’re going to be taking your sidekick of choice on all sorts of adventures—not all of them electronics-friendly. Really, the biggest change you should make is to tone down everything above 6kHz by about 5dB until your playlists aren’t grating. Your individual anatomy will alter what’s “best” for you, and this will only get you about 90% of the way there.

stereo jack with 1/4" adapter and is therefore suitable for use with almost all headphone amplifiers.Because the DT series all use the same (or similar-enough) shapes and sizes for the ear cups, you can pick up either the leatherette or velour pads for just about any model of DT XX0 headphones from Beyerdynamic, and they should fit the DT 770 Pro of any impedance. Going to college, on tour, or even just hanging out in a studio is murder on plastic over the long haul. Mids can take a bit of a backseat to the highs (very obvious in instrument-heavy Meat Loaf songs), but a properly-mixed track will preserve vocals and most instrument sounds quite nicely.

The long-term comfort and accurate performance make the DT 770 PRO excellent monitoring headphones for recording studios, post production, or broadcasting situations. For decades now, professional users all around the world have placed their trust in our classic range: DT 770/880/990 PRO.

I checked where the sleeving had been stripped (in the "factory") and found the cores had been damaged - so I cleaned those up . It also has the added benefit of not trapping in heat as badly as the aforementioned alternative does.

Bought them from Guitar Center and the receipt from says they're new, so I guess I'll have to trust that. The membrane can “breathe” in an otherwise closed housing and is therefore extremely quick and precise in its response, accurately reproducing frequencies anywhere between 5 and 35,000 Hz. As it has a relatively typical sensitivity and low-ish impedance, you would only need an amp if you notice your source device can’t output the volume you want to listen to.png Monitoring and recording in the studio ✓ Closed-back (The earcup housings are completely closed so incoming and outgoing noise is attenuated. The DT 770 PRO is a closed dynamic headphone and has been designed for critical music and sound monitoring.
