I can't stop pondering over the fact that today we have such popular novels like lord of the rings, harry potter and game of thrones and amazing on screen adaptations of these too. Because everyone in the book has interacted with one another previously and because nothing is as easy as it seems, it is also difficult to make simple decisions, and even when you think you can predict what is going to happen, new surprises with twists and turns pop up in the Ponniyin Selvan plot. He is still alive and was compelled to live at Choodamani Viharam, a Buddhist monastery in Nagapattinam.The narrative details attempts by his sister Kundavai to bring back Arulmozhivarman to establish political peace in a land seemingly beset with unrest and civil war plotted by vassals and petty chieftains. Whenever I have conversed with people who have read the book, it felt as though I had been vastly overestimating the diversity of humankind. It all begins on one fine day when a comet appears in the sky and brings a message that someone in the royal family is likely to die soon.

I have already added a character list to the main Ponniyin Selvan page and I have decided to add individual pages for each Volume and each character of the novel. After learning about Poonguzhali's exchange, they send her to bring Mandakini but she fails as Mandakini enters a secret tunnel through which some aabathudavigal have entered that leads to Sundara Chola's room. There isn’t much I can say about this series that hasn’t been said already by readers who have loved this story from the beginning when it was published as a serialized novel. There the aabathudavigal try to kill Sundara Chola but is stopped by Mandakini who sacrifices her life for him revealing her love for him and his family.She hates Aditha Karikalan for changing her fate but she also loves him for accepting her for herself. Vallavarayan Vandiyathevan, Crown Prince Aditha Karikalan's messenger, is sent by him to investigate the conspiracy and deliver the news to Sundara Chola and his sister Kundavai. The tale alternates between Vandiyathevan’s adventures in Chola land and Prince Arulmozhivarman’s travels in Sri Lanka. The very first page took me into the plot and with each page, I am more and more thrilled and excited to know what's next. Manimegalai, Kandhamaran’s (the Kadamboor prince) sister, assists Nandhini without knowing she’s the conspirator.

It’s not the polished language that an original English book would usually be written in, but I think that’s a good thing, because it very satisfyingly conveys the “mannina suvaasane” feeling (can’t think of a better way to say it) of the Tamil people and their glorious, ancient history.
