A mixture of light brown sugar and caster sugar also lend interest and great texture to the cake crumb. I find the presence of the Warninks advocaat in the cream sufficient to add a lovely boozy buzz to this advocaat dessert.

Even though I'm semi-fluent in Dutch, I didn't know that advocaatpeer is the Dutch word for avocado. The flavor is rich, decadent, and quite different from that of traditional eggnog; it is made from eggs, sugar, and brandy; it has a creamy, custard-like consistency and a custard-like flavor. Both brandy and eggnog are alcoholic beverages, though brandy is also available as an alternative spirit.This should be plenty of time to use it up in a variety of drinks and bakes (see the ideas at the end of the post for inspiration). The result is a thick, creamy, and full- bodied liqueur that has a delicious aroma and a sweet and spicy flavor. Place bowl over simmering water and cook, whisking continuously, until mixture is thick enough to form a coat on the back of a spoon, about 8 minutes total.
