The problem with the record is not the fault of the pressing plant, but the mastering of the songs themselves. After months and months of waiting, I finally got my copy and I'm glad I didn't read the comments beforehand as my copy sounds amazing! I wouldn't class them as excellent, but then again I don't really know what my definition of excellent would be.My only slight annoyance was that they had so much room to print lyrics or even the little image of Joji with the showroom dummies in the CD, but they didn't. The centre labels were again quite minimalistic, a theme Joji was obviously going for, and looked good. This pressing came with a noticeably high noise floor (present during quiet parts and transitions as well, so no this isn't a lo-fi effect filter), which was reduced with a good wet cleaning but still much higher than usual. At first, Joji was a low-key outlet, via which the onetime internet comedian (popularly masquerading as Filthy Frank) could explore his sensitive side, in the form of lo-fi beats and whisper-sung verses.

In 2022, following on the heels of the 2X Platinum single “Glimpse of Us”, Joji released his latest album SMITHEREENS, which expands on the powerful emotions of the breakout hit. An Album that has heavy bass and well, when it comes to the album (If you're here I guess you like it, right? Over the course of his career, Joji has become one of our most enthralling yet enigmatic artists, with over 16 billion combined streams to date. bass is incredible, surface noise is essentially nonexistent, and the mastering is fantastic overall. Many of the tracks have a lofi filter or distortion effects applied to them that could be mistaken for surface noise.Worth the money if you really want it on vinyl, but it doesn't come with any extras, liner notes, or anything except a printed inner sleeve. I noticed little to no noise between the tracks on this album, really good pressing for being a more "big box" retail variant. Really wanted to like this but the sound in this is not good, the tracks that have deep base don’t sound great and my copy skips on the first track fresh out of the wrapping. The "Ballads 1" logo is printed at the top and is of a decent size, the tracklisting at the bottom and a simple "Side A/B" at the top. I got this in hopes of upgrading my copy of Ballads1 because that one is also shit, but now I got two heaps of shit.
