Written with honesty, passion and no little mastery of the written word,I found it compelling reading.

As your eyes open to the truth, you hear the chains breaking away to freedom and delight in how the worldly-wise beauty queen brought African sunshine, smiles and warmth to the friends and lovers in the grey North of England. but Sandra together with Alfred are playing the hand that life dealt them with shear determination and will power, many would have given in at the first of many hurdles, this book is honest and sometimes sad, bizarre and kinky. If you are expecting a salacious book filled with graphic descriptions of serial sexual I was encounters, forget it. The book does not always follow the more chronological format often seen in autobiographies, but rather each chapter relates to a particular aspect of Sandra’s rich and varied life. On almost every page something to make you laugh, cry and cheer for Sandra and Alfred and I certainly did all.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Overall this is a very worthwhile read for anyone interested in a woman’s fight for the survival of herself and her child, and where it took her.

I started the book the day before a number of flights home, I missed the inflight meals, movies etc. Likewise, when Sandra's life was bursting with experience of scandal, abuse, to rubbing shoulders with the rich and well-heeled, she retains nothing but reveals it all, to the fullest. Harrowingly honest and strangely uplifting, this is a courageous testimony written from the soul of a unique, if not peculiar, woman whose tale transcends political and legal struggles.

Sandra makes no apologies for the road that she took and I, for one, don’t believe that she should have to. She is the third born in a family of six, to a ruthless father known to the masses as 'Idi Amin', due to his brutality.

Full of dreams and yearning for change, in her early twenties, Sandra embarked upon a journey to England with her then-husband and son, whose severe disabilities dismantled the marriage and she was left to fend alone for her and her son's survival. Rising from the ‘grime’ of Gorton, Manchester, Sandra breaks convention and rises into the sheets with the rich and powerful. It is a heartwarming fight of a gracious mother, desperate to get her son the medical care he so vitally needs, whilst his father seeks only to exploit him.
