Expert Engineer: Scott taught auto and shop classes at the school, he had knowledge of how to build and maintain cars, motorcycles and even the X-Jet. Meanwhile, Andre Agassi and John McEnroe famously wore large mono-lens sunglasses with high base-curve injected plastic lightweight frames. If you’re looking for that 80’s tennis court look, choose large mirrored lenses with a tight wraparound curvature. Blenders eyewear offer all kinds of frames and sun lenses for different sports and light conditions.

After breaking out of prison during the Avengers vs. X-Men aftermath, Cyclops now sports a totally different attire with an X-shaped visor symbolizing the mutants and his planned revolution. In 1983, Scott is in school learning about the incident in Paris. During class, his eyes start to bother him causing him to discomfort a fellow student who mistakes that Scott is hitting on his girlfriend. Scott then insults the boy and asks the teacher if he could go to the bathroom. The student follows Scott ready to fight him when his powers are activated, causing him to unleash an optic blast that destroys the bathroom. He is later spotted by Wolverine, teaching an automotive class, while holding hands with Jean. After Jean ran some tests on Wolverine, she explains to Professor X, Cyclops and Storm her findings about Wolverine – a supposedly indestructible metal called adamantium is fused to his entire skeleton. Ororo asks how could he have survived a procedure like that, and Jean explains that his mutation is a healing factor, which also makes his age impossible to determine – he could very well be older than the professor. Storm asks who did this to him, and she says that he doesn't know, nor does he remember anything that happened before it. Xavier muses that it must have been experimentation on mutants. Cyclops asks him what he thinks Magneto wants with him, and Xavier says that he's not entirely sure that it's him Magneto wants.

Cyclops shows his humor with Wolverine by being more sarcastic such as making fun of his dislike for the X-Men uniforms, he is one of the few people to actually banter with Logan and his insults. Despite Logan and Scott having a lot of angry tension between them, their was mutual respect. In the original timeline, after Jean Grey died, Cyclops mourned her death, hearing her voices in his head. Professor X was concerned if he was to ever be the same man he was, as now he put off his duties to train students and left that to Storm and Wolverine. Professor X had always planned for Scott to take his place as headmaster of the school, but this duty fell to Storm due to Scott's death in the original timeline. For hip hop fans, the 1980’s paved way for some the genre’s biggest stars. Most notably, the legendary flow and innovative rhymes of Christopher Wallace; otherwise known as the Notorious B.I.G or Biggie Smalls. With his rise to fame in his late teens, Biggie splashed his cash on fashionable garments, accessories and sunglasses as part of his new-found wealth. Famously, we wore Versace sunglasses in several of his aspirational music videos which have become iconic amongst the 80’s hip hop scene. The two most prominent sunglasses were the Versace 424’s and Versace Medusa models which he wore in both his ‘One more chance’ and ‘Hypnotise’ music videos. Whether you’re looking for a nostalgic investment or humorous fancy dress, this guide lists the best 80’s sunglasses styles and where you can buy them today. Skilled Leader: Scott led his fellow X-Men on missions and trained and taught many students at the school. Mind Control Serum: After being captured by Stryker, Scott was vulnerable to the same serum of persuasion used to brainwash Lady Deathstrike, Magneto and Nightcrawler on him. Afterwards he was corrupted in fighting Jean until she broke him out it.

In the aftermath of the "Avengers vs X-Men" event, Cyclops was at a crossroads in his life. Despite his best intentions, he had succumbed to the power of the Phoenix, killing Charles Xavier in the process. He had successfully achieved his goal of safeguarding the future of mutantkind, but at the cost of nearly all of his friendships and family ties. Showing his unshakable determination, Cyclops still wanted to help mutants. He formed a new team, with members that included Magneto and Emma Frost, and embarked on a self-professed mutant revolution. When Cyclops was possessed by a portion of the Phoenix Force during the conflict between the Avengers and the X-Men, his suit, including his visor were redesigned. Much later, on the mansion's front lawn, Storm and Kitty stand in front of the two graves of Scott Summers and Jean Grey, lying next to Xavier's grave – three great losses that the X-Men are left to mourn. After brainwashing him, Stryker has Scott wait for the X-Men. He finds Magneto, Mystique and Jean and, from a crossing hallway, Cyclops, under mind control, prepares to shoot at Magneto and Mystique. Jean uses her telekinesis to shove them out of the way in the last second and yells to them to go – she'll take care of him. Magneto agrees and tells Mystique that this is one lovers' quarrel they cannot get involved in. Jean uses a telekinetic blast to throw Scott away to a lower level and redirect one of his optic blasts. Worried that he's hurt, she runs after him and calls his name.

In 2028, Charles Xavier developed Alzheimer's and suffer a massive seizure that injured 600 people, and killed 7 mutants, including several members of the X-Men. It is unknown if Cyclops was among those who were either killed or injured. Compared to some of his teammates, the changes between Cyclops' team uniform and his individual uniform are rather minor, the main one being the replacement of yellow with blue on his chest. He received the costume in "Uncanny X-Men" #39, with Jean having designed new costumes for the five; as Professor X stated, "It's time the team looked like individuals -- not products of an assembly line!" Cyclops would keep this costume design, with minor modifications, until he left the X-Men in "Uncanny X-Men" #201.

Visor: During missions, Cyclops wears a protective visor, allowing him to focus his ability and also control the intensity and size of the blasts through a switch on the side, near the temple. In the comics, Cyclops and Havok grew up as orphans because their parents plane crashed when they were on vacation Scott suffered brain injury which made him lose the ability to control his optic blast. In the movies, that didn't happen. When they returned, Cyclops discovers that his brother had been killed when Apocalypse destroyed the X-Mansion. When William Stryker arrives, he and the military take Moira, Charles, Raven, Hank and Peter while Scott, Jean and Kurt hide. They sneak aboard the helicopter carrying the captured mutants and it takes them to Alkali Lake. While on the helicopter Scott mourns Alex and claims he should have been the one to die claiming Alex was going to be the one who did something special with his life. Jean, however, tells him that from reading Alex thoughts that he was the one who thought that Scott was going to do something that would change the world and had faith in his younger brother. Arriving at the facility the three run into Logan (Weapon X) who has already gone through the adamantium process and release him. Logan proceeds to slaughter Stryker's men before escaping, Scott hopes that it'll be the last time they ever see Logan. The three then proceed to rescue Hank, Moira, Raven, and Peter when Scott blasts through the walls of their cage. The groups escape with one of Stryker's jets and don battle suits before heading to Cairo. In the comics, Cyclops is older then Havok but in the films, it is reversed. There was also a third Summers brother who went by the alias " Vulcan", who was also the emperor of the Shi'ar. He was also the father of Cable, it is unknown if they share this connection in the film universe, but Cable does share the surname "Summers".

Oakley, Persol and RayBan had some of the best we could find. So, if you’re just into retro copywriting or fancy a trip down memory lane, we’ve assembled some of the best and most compelling adverts from the heyday of print. In the 1980’s, Wayfarer sunglasses were a symbol of style, attitude, and power. And no brand was more associated with this image than Ray-Ban. Thanks to their association with celebrities and movie stars, Wayfarers became the must-have accessory for anyone who wanted to look cool. Experimental, outlandish and unforgettable, this decade of futurism explored the definition of what eyewear could be.

A deeply saddened and angry Scott joins Professor X., Storm, Iceman, Rogue, Nightcrawler and Wolverine as they break into the White House to talk with the President and prevent a mutant/human war. s cycling attire saw the introduction of flashy clothing, jerseys, shorts… and you guessed it, sunglasses. With improving eyewear technology, sunglasses became more tailored and honed for competitive cyclists. At the cutting edge of this technological advancement were Oakley who emerged as one of the leading makers of cycling sunglasses during the 80’s with their famous Eye Shades, Mumbos, Blades and Frogskins models. To this day, they offer all kinds of technical sports frames with lens options for varying light conditions. For that 80’s cyclist look, choose large mirrored lenses with a tight wraparound curvature. Round faces will want to go for glasses with more angles, while squarer faces can get away with a rounder pair. Once you've found the perfect frame, it's time to have some fun with colour. Go for a bright neon shade or a vintage tortoiseshell acetate. She reaches her hand to take his glasses off, but he stops her, asking what she's doing. She asks him to trust her, saying she can control it now. She takes off his glasses, but he closes his eyes, still too frightened of hurting her. She tells him to open them, and he slowly and carefully opens his eyes. At first, his eyes glow red, but no optic blasts are shot. Then, slowly, the red glow fades and his eyes appear in their natural color. Overwhelmed by all this, Scott grabs her and kisses her. They share a long dramatic kiss, but then she opens her eyes and something strange happens to him. In Xavier's School, the professor senses Cyclops' distress. Telepathically, Scott's name is heard all over the school. Clearly, something is horribly wrong. Wolverine and Storm run through the halls hysterically to Xavier's office, not knowing what the hell happened. They burst open his door and ask if he's okay, and he tells them to get to Alkali Lake. Wolverine and Storm return to the location soon after and Logan can only find Scott's glasses.
